Does this hood lock into place or just screws tight onto the lens?
The Canon EW-73C Lens Hood, B&H # CAEW73C, does not screw onto the Canon EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM Lens. It connects to the lens via a bayonet mount, and friction will lock the the lens hood onto the bayonet connection on the lens until you choose to remove the lens hood.

The Canon EW-73C Lens Hood is dedicated to the Canon EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM lens. It mounts specifically onto this lens. If you have a different lens it would not be compatible.

There is no older version of 10-18. All canon EF-S 10-18mm lenses are STM.

For 25 bucks, I picked it up and find it useful. Hood will not be wasted on wide angle lens.

The 10-18mm canon wide angle lens is 67mm in diameter. Is there an adapter to attach the 73mm lens hood? I first ordered the 67mm lens hood but when you attach it, you can see the hood through the lens. I need to shoot wide angle, will the 73mm not show through and will it attach to the 67mm?
Are you using a full frame sensor? This lens, and accompanying lens hood are for crop sensor cameras only.
