    Polsen IAI-500 reviews

IAI-500 iOS Audio Interface is rated 2.8 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from It tells you to put batteries in backwards...kind of I thought this product was a dud until I flipped the batteries around. Inside the battery compartment, an image of a battery and + and - symbols are used to help the user insert the batteries correctly. Beware, the image and the symbols conflict with each other. Insert batteries according to the + and - symbols, not the image of a battery. The real flaw is that the headphone jack on the Polsen doesn't seem to work while recording with my iPhone. Sure, it plays back audio, and the quality of the recording is quite good, but not being able to hear what I'm recording is a huge bummer. I'd send this back if it wasn't so cheap and just to be used for emergencies only.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This does work I purchased three of these for my digital arts program to be used by students. I connect to an ipad and they can record instruments and singing. The reviews are correct regarding the power light not showing off and/or on. The volume level isn't marked. But, they work great for my needs.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Total failure First, this unit is inappropriately named with iOS, making it sound like it's design for iOS devices. It's not. It's a simple TRRS adapter, which means it works with any mobile device. There's no Lightning connector. The build quality is cheap and pure plastic. The switches are difficult and require the use of your fingernail. Unless you're using phantom power, nothing on the unit indicates that it's powered or even working. The input volume knob has no indicators for gain position. But the major crime about this horrible unit is that it doesn't even work! I first attempted to use it on a MacBook Pro with the standard TRRS audio port. It didn't work there, but I wasn't expecting it to. But then I tried it on my iPhone, and it wouldn't work in mic mode. My phone would not detect that anything was connected unless I switched the unit to instrument mode. Then, switching back to mic mode would seemingly disconnect it from my iPhone.Maybe this could work for instruments, but it's otherwise a waste of money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from WASTE OF MONEY DO NOT BUY! This is a waste of my money! I spent all my hard earned money on this, and now I get it and it doesn’t work! I got batteries, I use this for a bm-700 condenser mic and i tried so many times to record with this interface! It’s either this or the XLR cord. All I know is that I am returning this cheap piece of junk! Disappointing!! All they want is money off of the craziest pieces of junk on this website! Do not waste you money on this, and I mean it. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didn't work Unfortunately I put new batteries into it and it didn't turn on. Huge bummer. Was really looking forward to a cheap portable interface solution.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Design Very poor design. Once I figure out how to correctly install the batteries I got zero audio output. I tried changing the levels, using different mics, but nothing works.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must have This interface has made it super easy to record while on the go. And I use it at almost any chance I get to make music
