The Novation Launchpad S Control Pack is designed for creating electronic music using Ableton Live. The kit consists of the Launchpad S with 64 three-color launch pads, the Launch Control with an additional eight launch pads and 16 rotary knobs, two custom protective cases for the controllers, and a copy of Ableton Live 9 Lite. All you need is a computer that is compatible with Ableton Live and you are ready to start making and performing electronic music.
The Launchpad S from Novation is a multi-color button controller for use with grid-based music applications such as Ableton Live and FL Studio. For the DJ, performing musician, or studio producer, the controller provides everything needed to "play" the software straight out of the box, using the 64-button grid to launch and manipulate clips, trigger loops, fire off effects, control a mixer, and more.
The unit ships with Ableton Live Launchpad Edition music software, but can also be used to trigger loops and effects in the Launchpad app for the iPad. The app for the iPad is a totally self-contained music making and performance application, not just a software control app. It hosts its own sounds and allows for triggering loops with the hardware. It is also contains a whole range of effects, including filters, stutters and drum roll-styled effects. The optional Apple Camera Connection Kit is required to use an iPad with the Launchpad S.
The controller is lightweight and portable, and fully USB bus powered from a computer, or when connected to an iPad. Full MIDI Class Compliance means it will work "plug-and-play" with virtually any Mac- or Windows-based music software using the company's Automap control software. The buttons are brighter than the previous model, along with a significantly faster refresh rate. In addition to the Ableton software, the controller comes with the Novation Bass Station plug-in and over 1GB of loops, including drums, FX and artist content, from Loopmasters.
The Launch Control by Novation is a compact USB pad controller that features sixteen assignable knobs for hands-on control of your mixer, instruments and effects. It also features eight three-color backlit trigger pads that can be used to launch loops, samples and more.
The Launch Control provides eight factory and eight user templates that allow you to take control of multiple instruments or effects without having to remap your MIDI parameter assignments. It is compatible with Mac and PC and is fully class-compliant with no need for drivers. It can be used to control many popular DAWs such as Cubase, Reason, Logic and FL Studio.
The package includes Ableton Live Lite, the Loopmasters sample pack, plus a free download of the Launchpad app for producing and performing with the Launch Control in tandem with your iPad.
