Not audiophile quality, uses the most basic codec good for back ground music. The Bluetooth is sure simple to use and has a solid connection

I have an older Tivoli radio that I used to be able to connect my iPod to. Not anymore. But the Logitech Bluetooth audio adapter allows me to play music from my phone through the Tivoli speakers. It was very easy to set up. It makes a good connection. So far I haven't experienced any drop out. You can use this adapter with any audio equipment you might have that has a line-in input. (RCA(phono) or stereo mini-phone)

Can I use a micophone to the Aux (via 3.5 mm jack or usb to 3.5 mm jack adapter) to transmit to a bluetooth speaker?

The Logitech Bluetooth Audio Adapter BH #LOBTAA will not allow you to plug a microphone to the AUX. This is only to connect to powered speakers.

Can this be used to connect a tv to an apple HomePod without using an appletv?

The Logitech Bluetooth Audio Adapter cannot be used to connect a TV to an Apple HomePod. The Logitech Bluetooth Audio Adapter pairs to a smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth and connects to powered speakers, or an amplifier that does not have Bluetooth connectivity.

While 50' is unrealistic, 10' with one wall is fine. I've used several Bluetooth transmitters at a greater distance with two walls in between.

Can I limit the pairing or shut off the auto pairing?

According to page 07 in the manual, the Logitech Bluetooth Audio Adapter would seek to reconnect to the last paired device. The way to prevent this would be to turn off Bluetooth on the last paired device. You can turn on the new device that you want to pair and select the "Logitech Bluetooth Audio Adapter" from the device list. https://bhpho.to/40tcHb8
