The DIG-78102 External Slot Loading Blu-ray Writer from Digistor is an external optical drive that can burn Blu-ray discs, CDs, and DVDs and that connects to the USB port of your Windows or Mac computer. This slot loading drive accepts single use or rewritable discs with read/write speeds up to 6x Blu-ray, 8x DVD and 24x CD.
The Digistor Blu-ray writer can read and write different types of Blu-ray discs such as a single layer that can store up to 25GB to quad layer which can store 128GB. Since it can also read and write DVD and CD formats, you can use the drive in a wide variety of uses such as watching Blu-ray or DVD movies, burning home videos to Blu-ray or DVD and more. To power the drive, it requires two USB ports to draw power from, or if you only have one USB port available, this drive also has an internal 4-hour battery to supply the additional power.
Included with the Blu-ray writer are two programs, one is REWIND for Windows and Mac and the other is ArcSoft TotalMedia Extreme 2 for Windows. REWIND allows you to archive important files on your computer to Blu-ray discs. ArcSoft TotalMedia Extreme 2 edits HD videos to write to Blu-ray discs, and allows you to watch Blu-ray movies.
