The Lighting Strike! Ranger Storm Warning Device from AEO Photo is a compact personal storm and lightning warning system. It can be used in conjunction with the Lightning Strike! Shutter Triggers when storm chasing or in varied situations to approach or maintain a safe distance from oncoming storms and lightning strikes.
With a 25-mile active storm tracking radius, the Ranger provides audible and LCD graphic warnings of approaching storms, indicating if storm is approaching or departing. Advanced processing calculates the range to the storm head and the closure rate of the storm. In addition, it detects lightning strikes distinguishing between cloud-to-cloud and cloud-to-ground flashes. An integrated "man-made disturber rejection algorithm" reduces false alarms. A built-in quartz crystal doubles as a clock with audible alarm function and, utilizing one 200mAh CR2032 battery, the Ranger provides 100 hours of operation and 6-month operation in standby mode.
