The EB800MS V2 24TB 8-Bay SAS-3 JBOD Array from Proavio is equipped with eight 3TB hard drives for capturing, editing, and rendering full resolution videos without compromising on quality. Each 3.5" SATA drive spins at 7200 rpm and is mounted on a floating module that helps to reduce shock and vibration. This module provides longer disk life and reduces signal cross-talk between drives. Out of the box, the drives work in JBOD mode where each drive is handled independently with its own drive letter. These drives can be software reconfigured in different RAID options that offer redundancy, speed, or a combination of both. RAID software is not included. The array is also compatible with separately sold both PCIe and Thunderbolt hardware RAID controllers, which will relieve your host system of having to manage the array. When the drives are set for performance, the increased read and write speeds will better handle 4K video formats such as DPX, RED R3D, UltraHD, and more, with sustained throughputs of up to 2,200 MB/s when configured as a RAID 5.
This storage solution is powered with an energy efficient 250W 80 PLUS power supply. It is cooled with two self-monitoring fans, which features ZERONOISE Advanced Sound Control so you can use this storage solution in sound sensitive environments. Furthermore, this storage solution comes with two 12 Gb/s SAS-3 (SFF8644) ports that connect to a Windows, Mac, or Linux system, or an external PCIe or Thunderbolt RAID controller. Included with the EB800MS V2 are two hard drive keys, a power cord, a quick start CD, and two SFF8644 SAS cables.
