These clamps are functionally adequate, but may not be rugged enough. I dropped one and part of the plastic knob broke off.

I actually use these to hang gongs off of 3/4 pipe and they work well for this, even for fairly heavy gongs. My 4 star rating is based on what you get for what you pay, the main body is thick and strong and I've never seen one bend and I've never had the threads strip out. I took 1 star off for some minor concerns, mainly they can be a little difficult to tighten/loosen to a high degree because the design of just a bare bolt end that puts pressure on the pipe and the small handle (a long lever would probably be easier?). Also the main tension bolt feels a little loose in the threads and a more precision tap would be nice but like I said above I've never had one strip out.
