Nipros Multi-Core Studio System for Sony Handheld Camcorders

The Nipros Multi-Core Studio System for Sony Handheld Camcorders configures your camcorder for use in studio applications, letting you transfer HD/SD-SDI input and return signals, as well as tally, time code, intercom, and other essential camera signals, between your camera and a base station up to 328' using a single 26-pin ES-series multi-core cable. The system includes a HDS-300S Camera Adapter, HDS-600S Base Station, an LVM-89W 8.9" color LCD video return monitor, two intercom headsets, as well as the necessary interface cables to connect the components together, with the exception of a multi-core cable.

The ES-300S Camera Adapter mounts underneath your camcorder via a 1/4"-20 screw. The bottom of the adapter is compatible with Sony VCT-14 and VCT-U14 type tripod adapters, for quick-release onto professional support systems. A variety of input connections are available, including component and composite video, 3.5mm stereo audio, and time code. Additionally, there are 8-pin Sony and LANC remote control ports, whose signals are also transferred to the ES-600S for remote camera control from the Base Station. Both an 8-pin Sony and LANC remote cables are included.

All of the inputs signals sent from your camera to the ES-300S are then passed to the Base Station via a 26-pin ES-series multi-core cable. The optional cables have dual HD/SD-SDI cables interwoven with the multi-core for sending your camera's SDI output to the Base Station, as well as a return signal back from the Base Station to the ES-300S. The multi-core cable is also used to power the ES-300S via using 16 VDC from the Base Station. A pair of DC power cables come included to power Sony EX1/EX3, PMW-200, HVR-z5/Z7, or HXR-NX5 camcorders from the ES-300S.

To power external accessories, such as the included LVM-89W 8.9" LCD return monitor, the ES-300S has a 12 VDC 4-pin XLR DC output. There is also a 6-pin Hirose monitor interface port for passing power to the monitor, as well as accepting Tally signals sent from the ES-600S to the ES-300S via a multi-core cable. The monitor features HD component, HDMI, and composite video inputs, one composite video output, and tally indicator lights. It also provides advanced functions such as peaking, zebra, and frame markers. A 6-pin interface cable comes included, as well as a swivel shoe mount for attaching the monitor to your camcorder.

The ES-600S Base Station features a 26-pin multi-core connection and HD/SD-input for receiving signals from the an ES-series multi-core cable. It then provides the corresponding outputs for passing those signals onto your studio devices. Outputs include tally, component, composite, time code, and an HD/SD-SDI return, as well as Sony 8-pin and LANC remote control ports. The ES-600S is packaged in a compact 1.5 RU half-rack size for easy installation, even in limited-space production areas.

For communication from the base station operator to the camera operator, the ES-600S and ES-300S have a built-in intercom system, with each unit featuring 4-pin XLR male ports for connecting intercom headsets. Two single ear wired headsets come included. Also included is a tally cable set used to send tally signal from your switcher to the ES-600S Base Station, a BNC cable, and three BNC to RCA plugs.

Note: A 26-pin ES-series multi-core cable is required to connect the ES-300S to ES-600S.
