    Behringer UMC 22 reviews

    U-PHORIA UMC22 2x2 USB Audio Interface is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice and Efficient It was hard giving up my old Joe Meek mic preamp and my M-Audio 1010, but since the card was always having issues with Adobe Premiere the use of USB interface made all the difference in the world. We do have a audio-technica AT2020 USB mic at the studio, but never cared much for the quality of sound it produced. Now with U-Phoria UMC22 we are able to use several of our better quality traditional mics in conjunction with the UMC22. Dollar per dollar it performs very well and reduces the amount of equipment needed for voice-overs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It does exactly what i want for a very cheap price! I have a pair of Behringer Studio Monitors and for a long time i've been using my M-BOX Mini 3, but the M-Box just broke and to fix it the price was higher than this U-Phoria UMC22 that was EXACTLY what i need (headphone input, monitors output, combo jack, phantom power...), so i gave it a shot, and worth it. For that price you will not find anything better. I used to record my band at home, now i'm a video editor that need something to process the audio well, i'm not very into pre-amplifiers quality or expert of sound quality, so for me this fit perfectly!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't be fooled by the price! This is a great little box! I'm a professional producer/engineer and needed a small, portable interface to record live webcasts and seminars. This unit fit the bill perfectly. The preamp sounds really, really good! Nice headroom, transparent, low noise and enough gain for most applications. Direct monitoring and robust construction are also a plus. All for an incredibly low price! If you need a small, portable, great sounding interface this is a fantastic choice. Highly recommended!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent for the price I bought this product mainly to connect a pair of JBL LSR305 powered speakers to my computer. I was getting some weird noises from my Mac Mini line output. Problem solved. I get a clean and detailed sound from my speakers now. Only issue I have is that there is just one volume control on the interface for both line and headphone outputs. This can be annoying if you're using the interface to make some studio takes for example. But at this price point you cannot ask for too much. I only did a few tests with the MIC and Instrument inputs. Looks ok to me. The interface supposedly comes bundled with the Traktion DAW software but there is no mention of it in the box. You can get the software though on the Traktion website and unlock it with the interface serial number. The whole process is so complicated it becomes a real pain \and not sure the software worth it at least on the Mac where you can get more attractive options such as Logic X, Garageband or Pro Tools First.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Budget Beast, but frustrating If you are on a budget, this is a great contender for your money, however there are some very frustrating quirks. For example, I cannot use this interface in any two Adobe Programs simultaneously. If I am working in Premiere, and use dynamic workflow to edit audio in Audition, the interface will only work in one or the other, and causes the other to crash. This is presumably an audio driver issue with the device. Record quality from the mic and instrument inputs is clean though, and the tri port hybrid input for instrument 1 is very nice, as is the second instrument input. There is really a lot here for $40. I had issues getting the AISO drivers to work at first, but got things sorted. The phantom power is convenient as well. It has a few other various glitchy behaviors, but its $40 and the next closest thing I saw on this level of features was $100 so I can deal.
