For musicians, podcasters, and producers looking to realize their creative visions on a miniscule budget, the Behringer U-PHORIA UM2 desktop 2x2 USB 1.1 audio interface presents a welcome and user-friendly solution that's equally convenient for recording at home or in any location where inspiration strikes.

The tough, impact-resistant metal UM2 interface sports a studio-grade XENYX mic preamp—accessible via an XLR-1/4" combo mic/line input jack—and a separate 1/4" Hi-Z instrument input, enabling simultaneous recording of two unique sources such as a vocal mic and a guitar. Switchable phantom power is on hand for condenser mics and active DI boxes. Engage direct monitoring to hear your live input signal without latency.

Adjust the level for each input from the independent top-panel gain knobs while checking the front-panel LED indicators for signal presence and clipping. If you see the red clip lights, turn down the gain.

Monitoring your audio is simple, too. With its 1/4" headphone jack and stereo RCA line output, the U-PHORIA UM2 has no problem handling headphones and powered speakers. A single output knob on the top panel controls the level for both output destinations.

All inputs and outputs are treated to quality AD/DA conversion at up to 24-bit / 48 kHz resolution. Thanks to its bus-powered design and Mac/Windows compatibility, the U-PHORIA UM2 is both convenient and easy to use. Utilize the generous software bundle comprised of DAWs, virtual instruments, and effects, or pair the interface with popular programs such as Pro Tools, Ableton Live, Cubase, and more (available separately).

XENYX Microphone Preamp
The single studio-grade XENYX mic preamp features switchable phantom power to accommodate condenser mics or active DI boxes as well as standard dynamic microphones. The XLR-1/4" combo input jack can also be used to record a line-level signal from a mixer. Next to the mic/line input, you'll find a dedicated 1/4" Hi-Z input for direct connection of your electric guitar, electric bass, keyboard, or synthesizer.
Headphone and Line Outputs
With a 1/4" headphone jack on the front and stereo RCA line output jacks on the rear, the U-PHORIA UM2 can drive headphones and a pair of powered speakers. All inputs and outputs are treated to quality AD/DA conversion at up to 24-bit / 48 kHz resolution.
Top-Panel Input and Output Controls
Adjust the level for each input from the independent top-panel gain knobs while checking the front-panel LED indicators for signal presence and clipping. A single output knob (also on the top panel) controls the level for the headphone and line output jacks.
Zero-Latency Monitoring
Engage the interface's direct monitoring function to hear your input signal without latency. This will prevent the talent from being distracted by an echo of their live performance.
Bus Powered
The UM2 compact desktop interface is bus powered via USB (USB cable included), so you don't need to carry around a power supply or batteries. Since it utilizes the USB 1.1 standard and is compatible with Mac and Windows operating systems, you can easily use it on a variety of computers, even older machines with minimal system resources.
Bundled Software
