Buffalo 210 External HDD Overview

The 4TB LinkStation 210 from Buffalo is a personal NAS storage device designed to streamline the process of accessing and backing up your data. With a 4TB capacity you can store a variety of files including photos, videos, movies, music, and more. Those stored files can then be accessed by multiple users simultaneously as this NAS storage drive comes equipped with one Gigabit Ethernet port. In addition to Gigabit Ethernet, the Linkstation 210 also comes with one USB 2.0 port to attach external storage devices for easy file transfers.

The LinkStation 210 comes compatible with both Mac and Windows computers and mobile devices running both iOS and Android. You can even setup this storage device directly from your smartphone or tablet, no computer needed. Once configured, you can utilize the integrated backup software to create system backups of critical data as the LinkStation 210 comes with 5 licenses of NovaBACKUP Professional for Winodws and Time Machine support for multiple Mac computers.

Buffalo 4TB LinkStation 210, was easy to install and set up. It is working as I expected it to.

It does what it's supposed to. Does require Buffalo's software to get started. I docked one star because I didn't realize it came set in RAID1, so there was only half the advertised storage capacity as advertised. Requiring to rest to RAID0, and starting my backups all over again. Transferring through the built in USB port is extremely slow. Much faster to use the network to backup files onto it. Been mostly using it to feed media files to a number of Nvidia Shield devices throughout the house. Fast enough to stream 4k video files.

No, the Buffalo LinkStation 210 6TB 1-Bay NAS Server (1 x 6TB, TAA Compliant) does not support scheduling automatic backups to cloud services.
