It says 'one-handed dispensing'. Are these looser than my AA version? There is no way I could do those with 1 hand.

Is it possible that a battery in this case will be short-circuited if it comes into contact with a metal object such as a bunch of keys? Or does the construction of the case prevent that?

I'm traveling (without the battery holder at the moment), so don't have it right in front of me to check, but the batteries do sit below the top of the holder, so in general, flat pieces of metal like keys can't short them out. That being said, you could get unlucky, I guess, with a key ring or if you dropped them in a pocket with a bunch of metal objects, the right combination of things could make a circuit...
