The WD 2TB Re 3.5" SATA Internal Hard Drive from Samsung is used to upgrade the storage capacity of DVRs that use 3.5" internal hard drives. This hard drive is suitable for heavy workload environments, RAID arrays, video surveillance, and other write-intensive applications. With up to 1.4 million hour MTBF, this drive is reliable for 24/7/365 operation in demanding storage environments.

The hard drive features dual processors, which provides twice the processing power to maximize performance. The hard drive's Time-Limited Error Recovery (TLER) feature prevents drive fall-out caused by extended hard drive error-recovery processes. The NoTouch ramp load technology ensures that the recording head never touches the disk media. This ensures significantly less wear to the recording head and media as well as enhanced drive protection in transit.

Dynamic Fly Height Technology enables each read-write head's fly height to be adjusted in real-time for optimum reliability. In addition, the enhanced RAFF technology monitors the drive and corrects both linear and rotational vibration in real-time, thereby providing optimum performance even in high vibration environments.

The hard drive is designed to handle up to 550TB of data per year in heavy applications. With up to 6 Gb/s transfer rates and sustained sequential data rates of up to 164 MB/s, the hard drive is suitable for intensive applications.

Vibration Protection

Dual Actuator Technology
The hard drive's head positioning system with 2 actuators improves positional accuracy over the data tracks. The primary actuator provides coarse displacement using conventional electromagnetic actuator principles. The secondary actuator uses piezoelectric motion to fine-tune the head positioning to a higher degree of accuracy.
StableTrac
The motor shaft is secured at both ends to reduce system-induced vibration and stabilize platters for accurate tracking during read and write operations.
Multi-Axis Shock Sensor
The multi-axis shock sensor feature automatically detects subtle shock events and compensates to protect the data.
RAID-Specific, Time-Limited Error Recovery (TLER)
This feature prevents drive fall-out caused by the extended hard drive error-recovery processes common to desktop drives.

Thermal Extended Burn-In Test
