Speco Technologies MHL-5S Reviews

Run away and don't look back

Noisy, terrible sound quality, and cheap construction. Bought this as a talkback mic for our graphics operator who sits next door to the control room. I went cheap since sound quality wasn't a big concern, but this thing is so bad it's easier to just get up and walk to the other room in order to communicate. Do yourself a favor and spend a little more to get something that's actually useful.

Whats the best mic pre-amp compressor to use ? Can use Rolls MP13?
Asked by: Mariana
The Rolls MP13 is a mic preamp only that is compatible. As as another option for a mic preamp with a compressor built-in, you may like the Rolls CL151 GLC - Gate and Compressor/Limiter with Microphone Preamp and XLR or 1/4" Mic/Line Input (B&H # ROCL151).

Whats the best mic-preamp to use with? Can use Rolls MP13?
Asked by: Mariana
Yes, you can use the Rolls MP13 preamp with the Speco MHL5S microphone. Just about any mic preamp with an XLR input can be used. As another option, you can use the ART Dual RP Preamp for Dynamic and Ribbon Microphones (B&H # ARDRP).

question

Is MPA-46 PA amplifier compatible with this microphone?
Asked by: Anonymous
The MHL5S is a dynamic microphone which requires no external power to operate. This mic features an XLR output connection for PA use. If the PA amplifier features a 1/4 mic jack input, an adapter will be required such as the Shure A85F https://bhpho.to/2gg7KyL
