Lenspen DSLR Pro Kit Overview

The DSLR Pro Kit with microfiber pouch from Lenspen contains everything needed to keep your camera lenses, viewfinders and filters clean: an original LensPen for your DSLR lenses, FilterKlear for lens filters and the smaller MicroPro, designed specifically for viewfinders and tight corners that are harder to reach and clear of dust.

This kit has been designed to clean all your camera's glass surfaces in the most effective and safest manner possible. No harsh solvents or abrasives are employed. The invisible carbon used on these pens' cleaning heads absorbs fingerprint oil and smudges without abrading any of your delicate surfaces. The cap of each pen holds a pad containing the invisible carbon so that the cleaning tip is recharged each time the cap is replaced. It contains enough of the extremely fine carbon for at least 500 cleanings. Each pen also has a retractable soft brush inside to help in clearing larger particles.

As a bonus this kit will substantially reduce the static charge common on lenses when they are being cleaned which is important, as electrostatic charge attracts more dust and causes it to adhere to glass surfaces. This kit comes in a handy microfiber carrying pouch which doubles as a cleaning cloth for dislodging dust and larger particles.

Lenspen DSLR Pro Kit Reviews

Super Convenient

Along With A Manual Air Blower Bulb, These Pens Are All You'll Need To Keep Your Lenses And Filters Clean In The Field. These Things Work Wonders On Accidental Smudges From Oily Fingers. Unlike Microfiber Cloths Which Just Spread The Oil, The Charcoal Binds To The Oil, Allowing It To Be Brushed Away With The Attached Brush Or Blown Away With A Bulb Cleaner. Super Gentle And Safe On Glass, But Strong Enough To Clean Most Anything Nature Can Throw At It. Couldn't Recommend More Highly

If the carbon is invisible then how do you know the sponge contains anything?
Asked by: Terry
You can test the lens pen on a white sheet, also the invisible carbon used on these pens' cleaning heads absorbs fingerprint oil and smudges without abrading any of your delicate surfaces. once the replenishment finishes the tip of the pen won't feel as smooth.

question

May I know what's the difference between the three items here? Just the cleaning head size? But the FilterKlear Filter vs Lens Cleaner are having the same cleaning head size. Thank you.
Asked by: Anonymous
The difference between the lens pen and the filter pen is that the lens pen is concaved to match the round surface of a lens, whereas the filter pen is flat to match the flat surface of a filter. The MicroPro pen is as described in Heather's answer.

question

When I use the cleaning tip, it seems to drop little piece (the material on the tip) as it touches the lens surface, is this normal?
Asked by: Anonymous
This does happen with lens pens and is normal. Sometimes the bristles will get caught and stuck between surfaces of the lens or filter and get pulled out of the brush. Other cleaning options like a reusable cleaning cloth or disposable lens tissue would not have this issue.

How different is the pen for LENS from that for a FILTER? Wouldn't either one clean the other? What exactly the difference? Thanks.
Asked by: Fred
The lens pen has the slightest concave curve to it and the filter pen is flat. Both work on my (UV filtered) lenses.

question

Is the pen for use on filters safe to use on polarized filters?
Asked by: Skip G.
I can't say whether or not it can be used on a polarizer, but there is nothing in the literature accompanying this item that suggests that it should not be used on a polarizer.

question

Why is it that rubbing the lens with the lens pen pad will not cause cleaning marks on the multi coatings on a filter or a lens?
Asked by: Greg
These lens pens are dry, so they leave nothing behind to streak. The carbon in them basically absorbs the greases and other gunk. I don't know what shape the microscopic bits of carbon dust are, but if they're spherical I imagine that would greatly reduce the risks of scratching. It's interesting how these were developed. Years ago, someone realized how well newspaper worked when cleaning windows. Whoever that was did some investigating and found that it was the carbon in the ink that made it so effective. With that, the idea for lens pens was born.
