This 0.5" black Leica Soft Release Button for M-System Cameras screws into the shutter release button's threads, and provides a larger surface area as well as a unique design. It has a painted brass finish and features the Leica M-system logo. Additionally, a threaded rear backing attachment is included so the soft release can also be used as a lapel pin or clothing accessory.

I prefer the smaller soft release buttons. They are not as showy as the larger versions. They screw in easily into the socket. They can come loose. So every now and then they need to be checked to make sure they are secure.
There are many soft-touch buttons that are less expensive, but only one that says Leica. For all-black cameras like my M11-P, it not only makes the shutter button more friendly and easy to find, but adds a touch of class. I tried wearing it as a button on my hat for fun, and soon lost the backing. The aluminum backing piece doesn't hold it very securely, but on the camera, it not only looks great, and does not work loose, but makes using the camera even easier.
