The Fusion DX800RAID houses eight Enterprise/RAID Edition hard drives that are connected to the Sonnet Thunderbolt 2 adapter chassis via mini-SAS. This chassis utilizes a 6 Gb/s SAS/SATA RAID controller card that configures the hard drives in RAID 5 to deliver performance and redundancy to your Windows, iMac, Mac mini, MacBook Air and MacBook Pro computers via Thunderbolt. The RAID controller is based on the Marvel 88RC9580 RAID-on-Chip processor that also supports RAID 0, 4, 6, 10, and JBOD to suit your needs. Depending on configuration used, this system can offer reads up to 1170 MB/s and writes up to 1270 MB/s.
