Using the camera on a new iPad to record video, is there any way to make sure the audio is recording? I need to record a 30 minute interview and want to make sure I'm getting good audio. Will the headphone let me hear what is being recorded, or is there any other way to monitor the audio signal?
Yes it will. There are two microphone inputs as well as a headphone output for monitoring through headphones with that Rode adapter that comes in the kit.

When using the Polsen HPC-A30 Closed Back ...
When using the Polsen HPC-A30 Closed Back Headphones the person I was interviewing was distracted by hearing the noise coming from the headset. Has anyone else noticed extra background noise from the headset? I know you will hear the sound when you are wearing the headset but it seemed really loud and I'm not sure why.

It is compatible with most Android devices (CTIA/AHJ compatible) and other mobile devices. There is a very good chance that it will perform well with your Motorola device.

Is this device compatible with the regular iPad? Thanks so much!
I purchased 3 of them to use with iPhones (Cheaper than quality wireless mics) the actors had the phones in their pockets. On iphones the headphone jack is stereo with a third contact to allow for a mic. M ipad works the same way. A simple test is to try the apple earbud headphones, that come with the device and also have the built in mic deigned to allow you to talk on the phone with the earbuds. If that works, this will work. I found the sound quality of this rather good, a bit quite, but clean enough that I had no problem boosting the levels in post. Just remember to turn your devise to AIRPLANE MODE, otherwise each time you get a call, text, message or email, that will destroy that take. B&H will take care of you.

will this work in the aux input on the jvc hm600u?
The Polsen MO-PL1 is specifically designed to operate with mobile devices which do have a 3.5mm jack, but the connector is not the same as the input on a camera or portable voice recorder. Unfortunately this mic is not compatible with your camera.
