    Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the Fastest Processors This thing is fast. However, unless you need this kind of speed you might want to consider other options in the i7 and i5 series. The only time the processor maxes out is when I'm video rendering. Even while gaming and recording both audio and video I still have more than 50% left over. But back to encoding, it does an amazing job. I've yet to lag on Premiere even with multiple video streams running at the same time. The rendering times are great too, I don't have exact numbers, but it's almost 2 times as fast as my old AMD processor. However, when compared to similar products the differences might be a couple seconds so you should research and figure out how to get the best value for your money.

Since I bought new motherboard I had to buy this monster, this i7 is that a Minster compared to a previous cpu's. I do a lots of a videos and believe me it goes extremely fast. And I do have a Ge force GTX 660Ti and GTX550 together and I wasn't getting the same results (speed) guys, dont be affraid to soend a few extra bucks. If you know you do some heavy computing,video editing you will be happy to get without breaking your wallet.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Real Deal Let's keep this simple -- if you have a Sandy Bridge based Intel Processor, you should upgrade. If you have a Ivy Bridge based Intel Processor, you can upgrade, but you don't have to. If you have a Haswell based Intel Processor, and you do not overclock, you shouldn't upgrade. If you have an AMD processor, and you are looking for the ultimate in speed and power, you should probably upgrade to the Intel platform. Specifically, the i7-4790K has a base clock for 4.0Ghz and a boost clock of 4.4Ghz. Simply put, this processor is very fast. Couple that with it's ability to be more stable at overclocking speeds, and you have the recipe for an excellent CPU for your multimedia and gaming needs. The best part? It costs exactly the same as last years i7-4770K.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Its as Fast as it gets I was running an unlocked i5 3.4 GHz processor on my Z87 Motherboard with 16 GB 2400 MHz RAM and a solid state drive. Leaving everything the same but just adding the New i7 4 GHz processor, my Photoshop 64 bit runs like nothing I have ever experienced before. Editing 20 14 megapixel images at the same time is nothing for my system now. I have absolutely zero delay at all, everything happens as fast as I can click my mouse button. Running filters is so fast my eyes can't see it happen anymore. I now believe the reviewers when they say use the fastest i7 you can afford if you run Photoshop.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from A really good CPU I upgraded from a 4770K as i needed it for another setup, and got the 4790K, its a little cooler running than 4770K but you still need a good cooler to keep it under control, its the fastest CPU i have owned, but also one of the hotter. Paired with GTX780 and Samsung 840pro, it runs all my games at max settings, windows runs super fast, no issues at all to report.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent CPU! Bought as part of an upgrade from an X4-860K. Noticable frame differences in gaming out of the box. Instantly able to overclock to 4.6Ghz without adjusting voltage. Stock cooler isnt that great, and I don't recommend it for any clock increase. If you aren't into OC'ing, go with a non-k model of cpu and save yourself $. If you are just building a gaming pc, go with an I5. Similar power at a price decrease. If you need the power to render or do video editing, but don't want to shell out for Skylake, this is the CPU you are looking for.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Processor for Rendering and More My first PC build was around two years ago and it housed an AMD x4 760k I believe. Soon after, I decided to get into video editing, and rendering was pushing my PC to its fullest for long periods of time. I obviously went with the i7 4790k for this new build and I can say I was missing out. I can render higher quality videos in a fraction of the time while still being able to smoothly run programs in the background including photoshop, and even many games despite rendering the video. This CPU does wonders in games that depend heavily on it like Black Ops 3, and Java-based games. You are truly getting what you pay for and B&H never fails me on their service. Great buying experience. For reference, I am using a Corsair h100i cooler and a GTX 970 paired with 16GB of ram.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely Fast,and Cool Under Light Load Pros: Extremely fast. Paired with SSDs and fast RAM this blows away its predecessor (a fast-for-its-time Phenom II X6). Under light-to-moderate load it stays cool (30C) with a Noctua aftermarket cooler. Cons: Includes a throwaway cooler. They should bundle a good one or not bother.
