Designed for beginners, the Infinity 70mm f/10 Alt-Azimuth Refractor Telescope from Meade is intended to introduce viewers to astronomy by giving them a complete set up for viewing the Moon, planets, and meteor showers. Its manual alt-azimuth mount has an altitude lock and slow-motion controls for precise tracking of subjects. Two eyepieces provide 27x and 78x magnifications with a 2x Barlow lens that doubles the magnification of each eyepiece for a wider-range of observing possibilities.

An adjustable-height stainless steel tripod provides a stable platform for sky-watching, and the included 90° erect-image diagonal makes looking through the scope more comfortable, especially when aiming the telescope toward the zenith. The diagonal's prism corrects images horizontally and vertically, allowing the scope to be used for terrestrial viewing as well. An integrated dew-shield helps to prevent condensation on the outside objective lens, while blocking stray peripheral light from interfering with celestial observations.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Telescope, Shipped Fast I decided to purchase this telescope from B & H because it would arrive faster than other online retailers. I ordered it late evening and the next day it shipped and arrived at my house in NC in a couple days. The packaging was very good too. The tripod is nice and sturdy. The telescope was easy to put together, i have heard some people say the red dot finder is useless, i disagree, i suspect they did not align the red dot finder with their scope. Please read the clear and concise instructions that come with it. Took me like 5 minutes lol. This is what i did, i used the 26mm eyepiece in late afternoon and focused on a stop sign about 1/4 mile up the street. Then centered the red dot finder on it. It does take quite a few turns of the adjustment knobs to move the dot finder, be patient, keep turning. So at night i have used the dot finder with the 26mm to locate objects with ease. Then switch lenses etc etc. I am pleased with the product for the price. I had heard this is a good telescope and can be upgraded with some better lenses which is understandable and the norm it seems for scopes in this price range. So all in all i am very happy with this telescope. I just got it for looking at like Jupiter and the Moon and what not, i wasn't looking to spend a million bucks. But for $75, yeah, really cool. I also ordered the carry bag which is very nice and of high quality. And this thing is very light, easy to move around. What i also did with my tripod was take a tape measure, and measure down like every 6 inches and added a little piece of blue tape to each leg this way i can at least get the tripod mostly level rather than trying to keep eyeballing and adjusting the legs. I will not hesitate to order from B & H again. I was impressed, you got my order processed and shipped fast. Thanks!
