Dracast Fresnel 1000 Daylight Overview

The Fresnel1000 Daylight LED Light from Dracast is packed with the latest LED technology backed with solid construction and intuitive design. The daylight-balanced light has a Kelvin temperature of 5600K for work outdoors or to match other light sources such as HMIs. Dimming from 10-100% is easily done locally on the unit or remotely via DMX. The fixture's wide 15-60 spot to flood range allows impressive control of the field of light which can be further controlled with the included barndoors. For sound-sensitive situations, the Fresnel 1000 is designed with a completely silent passive heat sink cooling system.

The Fresnel1000 outputs the equivalent of a 1000W tungsten halogen Fresnel while running cool to the touch and consuming a fraction of the power, resulting in lower HVAC running costs in the studio and a quick return on your investment. The light ships with a 100-240 VAC power adapter for worldwide use and, with an optional adapter, it also runs on 24 VDC in locations where mains power is unavailable. The Fresnel1000 comes with a 5/8" receiver for hanging or stand mounting.

Things I like: nice construction and comes with barn doors, the light is bright but not a full 1K, it is about the same as an Arri 650, the built in dimmer is nice. Things I don't like: no in cord or on unit power switch

This light has, quite simply, blown me away. All my previous attempts at purchasing a light for a price that wouldn't break the bank have been futilebut then I came across this product. One of the biggest pains of other lights was the excessive heat output. When my recorded interviews would take longer than 45 minutes (as they always do!) my traditional fresnel became UNBEARABLY hot, to the point where it was impossible to handle/pack up for quite some time. As my previous light began to heat up, the color began to change as well, leading to inconsistencies in my filming. This light has no such problems and borders on perfection. The color stays entirely accurate, and the output is remarkably powerful without being a traditional fresnel. I cannot recommend this product more highly!

I recently experienced some horrible lighting and equipment for a very expensive price, not worth it. That's why I am writing this review, I was recommended the Fresnel 1000 Daylight LED from a close friend who is really into perfect lighting. After purchasing this product I am so satisfied. The equipment is not cheap, it is durable as well. I love how bright the light is and how if you keep it on it won't get to hot, which is a plus. Usually good quality product comes with some heavy weight,not this light, it is super light. Highly recommended...Thanks

As a freelance producer, this light works great with a number of different set ups. I usually just need a good portable and lightweight for a small interview or broll segment, and this LED Fresnel is perfect. It gives out the light you need without getting too hot. It's the best of both worlds, the efficiency and weight of an LED light but with the beam intensity of a traditional fresnel light. Also the color accuracy is on point, no tinting or inconsistencies. The temp is always accurate. The built-in DMX controls are great addition too. Overall a great purchase.

I travel around the area for my photography, and I need my equipment to be lightweight, portable, and still be durable and reliable. I love this light. I get excellent results using it, the temperature is reasonable and the light is very balanced. The #1 selling point for me, though, is how easy it is to transport. It is extremely light to carry, and it's compact. Not bulky or unwieldy. I love it!

My friend is an independent film maker and I usually end up helping him a lot during his filming. I guess I'm kinda of like the prop and set up girl. He films a lot at night time so he needed a portable light that gave off enough light so the house would look likes it day time. I found this light for him and it ended up being perfect for him. Not only does it give him enough light but it's so light weight that I can handle it by myself with ease. Plus it doesn't give off any crazy color tints when he's filming like his old lights did, which saves us a lot of set up time. I highly recommend this light for your filming need, it's the only light we will purchase from now on!

I will use this product as a background light for interviews. I like working with Daylight balanced fixtures and thi is a perfect addition to my arsenal.
