Celebrating forty years of creating synthesizers, Yamaha has released the MOTIF XF6 White, an anniversary edition of their feature-packed MOTIF workstation. The instrument includes sixty-one velocity sensitive keys with aftertouch, along with a host of functions for enhanced performance on stage or in the studio.
The company's AWM2 Expanded Articulation synthesis engine delivers 1,664 voices and 97 drum kits, including authentic pianos, keyboards, synthesizers, orchestral wind and string instruments, drum sounds, all suitable for a variety of music production styles. A sixteen-track sampling sequencer delivers ease of use and flexibility for recording whenever inspiration strikes.
Internal 128 MB of SD-RAM is provided for loading sample voice libraries, importing WAV files, or adding vocals, guitars and other acoustic instruments to sequences. Connecting a microphone to the A/D input allows for adding custom vocal samples, while direct-to-USB recording provides the ability to bounce tracks to a computer as WAV files.
With the addition of high-density reverb used in the CP4 Stage and Tyros 5 pianos, the re-creations of two Yamaha grand pianos (a 9' CFIII and a 7' S6), an 8-element-per-voice structure and the ability to add 2 GB of additional content through flash memory expansion modules, makes the anniversary addition a fitting tribute to the company's history of electronic instrument creation.
