  • 1Description

Store and access up to 6TB of your files in a desktop computer, NAS device, or RAID array using the 6TB Desktop Everyday SATA III 3.5" Hard Drive from WD. 6TB will allow you to store movies, photos, music, documents, and much more. Compatible with computers running Windows and Mac OS, this hard drive connects to your system's 3.5" bay via the SATA III 6 Gb/s interface.

In terms of speed, this drive operates using WD's IntelliPower rotational speed. This means that rpm speed of the drive depends on the operations being performed. If the drive is performing mostly sequential reads and writes, its speed will be increased as compared to if it were performing mostly random mode operations. This 6TB drive also features a 64MB cache to help ensure uninterrupted data transfers. Included with this hard drive are mounting screws.

    WD WDBH2D0060HNC-NRSN reviews

6TB Desktop Everyday SATA III 3.5" Hard Drive is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from It is a WD Green - good for archives The box shows blue, but the drive inside the retail box is a regular WD Green. Slow performance: 5700 RPM. Crystal Disk Mark shows 100MB/sec read/write on a new, empty drive. Quiet, cool, fine for storage and archives and any use where you don't need breakneck speed performance. The Hitachi 6TB Deskstar HGDSIHD6, which I also got at B&H and is only slightly more expensive, is twice as fast. But it it is also hotter and louder.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good choice for data hoggers I had only one more available drive bay in my storage system and needed something that could handle holding lots and lots of data. This fit the bill perfectly. It's fast enough for archiving and streaming media off of it with no issue at a reasonable price range. I ran a few thorough test before putting it in production which if past with flying colors. I only wish it was even cheaper!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from quiet, cool, competent, slow This is a standard WD Green inside a blue box retail package. I don't know why they put it in a blue box. Seems deceptive. Runs extremely cool! Also quiet. MUCH cooler and more quiet than my 6TB HGST Deskstar. 100MB/sec vs 160MB/sec average. Great drive for archiving massive data (@75MB D800 raw photo library archives for me). Fast enough for browsing, but too slow for a working drive. When I want to work on a folder with hundreds of files, I move them over to my 1TB Evo, work on them, then move them back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 6TB hard drive are we ready yet? Ok I was skeptical. I have 4 TB drives that were filling up fast. Are we ready for 6TB DRIVES? HELIUM? access speeds? ok so I installed the drive, formatted, copied the existing. I now have the 2 TB spare space working as good as the 4tb drives. Easy, fast simple no problem.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works in Apple Time Capsule I had to RMA the first disk I got from B&H. It has died on the second day of my tests (I always test my disks before use). Western Digital replaced the failed disk and the replacement survived five days of Bart's Stuff Test 5 just fine. Now my Time Capsule is 6TB and that's enough for my 2.5TB worth of apple gear. It's minus one star for RMA hassle (one has to accept such things nowadays).
