The Ricoh WG-20 Digital Camera with Adventure Basic Kit from B&H brings together a durable 14-megapixel camera, an 8x22 binocular, multi-tool, and a couple of essential camera accessories in the form of a 16GB SDHC memory card and a camera carrying pouch. These kits will benefit a variety of different outdoor expeditions.
The WG-20 camera is a water, shock, cold, crush, and dust-proof compact camera that excels in a variety of shooting conditions. It features a 14MP 1/2.3" CCD image sensor, which enables high-resolution still image capture as well as HD 720 video recording. A 5x optical zoom lens provides a 35mm-equivalent focal length range of 28-140mm, which is benefitted by Pixel Track SR image stabilization to minimize the appearance of camera shake. Clear live view and image playback is possible via the 2.7" 230k-dot LCD monitor, which features an anti-reflective coating to suit working in bright, sunny conditions. Despite its wide-angle to telephoto reach, the WG-20 excels when working with close-up subject matter due to the incorporation of five lens-surrounding LEDs and dedicated shooting modes for focusing as closely as 1cm away from subjects.
For scouting subjects and general outdoor viewing, the included 8x22 Jupiter III+ binocular features a porro-prism design with coated BaK4 glass for faithful light transmission and reduced chromatic aberrations. This binocular assumes a compact design for greater portability and has an easily accessible center focusing ring as well as an adjustable diopter.
Rounding out the complete kit is the Columbia River Eat'N Tool, which melds a spork, screwdriver, pry tool, three metric wrenches, and a bottle opener into a single sleek, yet versatile tool.
