    MultiCart R16RT reviews

RocknRoller R16RT Ground Glider is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from RocknRoller R16RT Ground Glider I am a commercial photographer in the Midwest. Like many of us now in the digital world, I dont require as much equipment on shoot as I did in the film days. That being said, I still find myself taking probably more than I need to jobs and I wanted a cart that would be lightweight, compact, adjustable to what gear I might take and be quite ( I work a lot in hospitals) The RnR R16T so far has been a delight! Even clients have commented on it... I love that it can be adjusted for length, as I carry different gear depending on the job. Time will tell how it holds up but after a few weeks, it has more than met my needs

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Improvement over R10 I've only used this a few times so far, but it's way better then my old R10. The tubbing is thicker and will hopefully hold up better. My old R10's handles were always bending, these seem beefier- but only time will tell. The casters seem good and I like the lower profile. It rolls good on and off road. I wish there was a better bearing in the big wheels, as the plastic bearings have not seemed to last for me in the past. Also, buy some axel grease for the casters. They will not roll very well without it. My axle came brand new with some rust, so grease is a must.Note - There is no additional shelf available for this cart that I know of. The handles are a different size then the other models and the old shelf will not fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Built like a Tank - A Malaysian Tank I already had the R12 cart and wanted something a little beefier and that handled gravel and grass better. This cart does just that. The wheels are wider and the tubing is significantly beefier, emphasis on the beefier part. The cart itself is actually lower than the R12 which is great for my purposes, loading it in and out of an SUV. Upon arrival I had to made some modifications to the cart, like greasing the wheels, drilling some of the pin holes so that the rear wheels would fit on, glue one of the slider plates and fix one of the rear wheel bearings. This thing was made in Malaysia. All of that aside, this thing will last a while, I do not expect the cart itself to break, but the wheel bearings will wear with time, as with anything else. I also recommend replacing the grip tape with something more rubbery that actually grips bins better. I've also made some mods to my cart, to allow stands and things to be mounted to it. Like this review so that I will make a video review. :) I am overall happy with this purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Move Your Stuff I have used my Cart only two times in the last couple of weeks but I already don't want to be without it. You can pile all your rear for a shoot and wheel it just about anywhere. We just went up a ramp to board a boat last night and it went right up. It is a little hard to steer when not moving. But you can move a lot of stuff easily with this cart. And when you are done or at your event it folds up pretty small.I highly recommend this cart for anyone who has a lot of gear to move around.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love them so much, I own two I move a lot of gear and furniture around. As I get older, I relaize it's important to work smarter, not harder. So having a versatile cart that can hold up to 600 lbs in many different shapes is part of that plan. I use the Multicart Flex Straps to secure large loads. When I am in the studio or making a rolling studio, the GripnGaff Jumbo BAG is a genius addition for moving around C-Stands, boom arms and light stands without them sliding all over and falling off the cart.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This model is a nice upgrade I bought the RocknRoller R16RT MultiCart to supplement my R12RT model that I have been using for two years. I am pleased that the steel frame is a bit sturdier and the caster wheels though smaller are wider and seem to withstand shipping better.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good cart - Low quality finish. When the cart arrived it had many very small pant chips which annoyed me. This is due to how the wheels are packed (wrapped in cling wrap and rattling around in the box). The finish seems more like paint to me because the coating chips very easily. The paint came off on every moving part on the first and second use. There was also a very small spot of rust on the cart right out of the box. The wheel are nice and wide but they don't really ride like pneumatic tires. They seem a lot stiffer. Maybe they will loosed up over time. Large wheels make bumps much more manageable. The metal work appears to be acceptable. You need to supply your own axle grease for the back wheels. That should be included. You also might want to get some extra 3/4 washers for the back wheels. This will prevent the locking pins from chewing up the hubs on the wheels. The cable that releases the handles can be engaged with your foot when you are opening the cart, but not when collapsing it. There is 3/8 gap between the cable and the cart. You pretty much have to do it by hand when you are collapsing. It is a handy cart and I like the length adjustment. The second time I used it, I loaded it with gear that would have taken me 8-10 trips to do by hand. Saved me 45 minutes total loading in and out on that gig.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love RocknRoller RocknRoller cards are great.NOTE: My comments are based on ownership of a different model, and are not specific to this cart, which is newer and which may have corrected issues noted below. One con about the RocknRoller is their very attraction. That's why I'm shopping today - mine has come up missing. I guess somebody needed it more than I do.I'd rate the RocknRoller 5 stars except for one fact - a bad experience with parts and service. These carts use custom caster wheels. One of mine was broken by an employee who no doubt had a heavy load and manhandled the cart a bit. But this type cart is used in production, transporting gear from a truck outside over asphalt and concrete with no guarantee of smooth paths and freedom from obstructions. If your RocknRoller will be used only indoors, maybe you don't need the most robust model if you will always be on a perfectly smooth floor. The downgraded rating is because gear like this is prone to damage, and when that happens, I spent a ton of time shopping hardware stores like Tractor Supply, Home Depot, Lowe's, Harbor Freight, even and @ but came up empty handed. You have no idea how many types of caster wheels are out there until you try to match a part on something like this.I wound up getting a mismatched (same size but different wheel design, color and style of tread) replacement caster directly from RocknRoller. But this was an ordeal. They really are not setup to support parts or repairs, and that is a negative because repairs seem inevitable.Since it looks like I am going to buy a replacement for the cart someone has taken from me, here are two more issues I am going to be careful about:1) Avoid models with tubeless pneumatic tires. My RocknRoller cart always had a flat. Small tubeless tires are unreliable. They lose their air in storage. Also, they are difficult to seat the bead on the rim when they have to be reinflated. You will need a high volume industrial-type air compressor. A little 12-volt automotive compressor will not work once the bead separates from the wheel rim.2) If you are going to operate your RocknRoller in unpredictable production locations like I do, be sure to get a model that is rated for all terrain use. Pay attention to the caster steering wheels at least as much as the larger rear wheels. When these carts are loaded up at their ratings up in the hundreds of pounds, all the wheels are under equal load. The large rear wheels on a fixed axle are very robust. The caster wheels are actually the weak link and point of failure, especially when you consider how someone handling these carts can sometimes jerk the load sideways on the steering end. As you look at the RocknRoller product line, focus on the differences in caster wheels make your buying decision based on anticipated load requirements.Luckily, RocknRoller has an extensive product family. Just be sure to get the cart that is properly configured for how you intend to use it, and the cart will serve you well.
