The 9.7', silver 40" Riser C-Stand Turtle Base Kit from Kupo is outfitted with a patented spring ring locking system that removes all tension from the legs so that gravity can do the work for you. With the turtle base, the riser section can be quickly removed from the base for easy transportation and the base can be used with a stand adapter for a low mounting position.

Does the large leg slide up?
No. You want one of the sliding leg models for that. Look at Kupo Grip's web site. Having said that, I have several of the turtle base models and love them. Great design and construction.

Hi I want to know is there anything else that I need to purchase in order to use this c-stand with my elinchrom elb 500 ttl? I want to reverse mount my lights in the deep octa and shallow octa and be able to pivot the light/modifier. Thanks for your help.

What's the maximum weight the stand can hold?
The stand itself is so heavy-duty, I can't imagine overloading it. It weighs a ton, and is very well constructed. You will probably need to sand bag the base for balance though, depending on how far out on the arm you place your load. I use two 16 lb. saddle bags just to be sure.
