The G3 D855 International 16GB Smartphone from LG improves on its predecessor, the LG G2, with a bigger 5.5" in-plane switching (IPS) display and a larger Quad HD 2560 x 1440 native resolution. The IPS panel allows for wider viewing angles while the native resolution allows the LG G3 to play back 1080p Full HD content. The display is also a capacitive touchscreen with full support for the multi-touch gestures incorporated into the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system. The screen is also made with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for high scratch resistance and screen durability.
The LG G3 is powered by a quad-core 2.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with 2GB of RAM. The micro-USB port allows you to charge as well as transfer data quickly from your computer to the LG G3 and vice versa. The micro-USB port also supports SlimPort. SlimPort uses a single cable to deliver high-definition video and audio from your LG G3 to a wide range of external displays, including projectors, PC monitors, and HDTVs. In order to take advantage of SlimPort, you'll have purchase a SlimPort adapter (sold separately).
Bluetooth 4.0 is onboard for pairing with other Bluetooth-enabled devices. 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi is also integrated for high-speed Internet connectivity. Built-in NFC allows you to instantly connect to other NFC-enabled devices for content sharing, simply by tapping the two devices together. A-GPS with GLONASS is also available for using Google Location and Maps services. Additionally, the LG G3 has a removable 3,000mAh battery. The LG G3 also allows you to charge your battery via wireless charging. Under the battery door, the LG G3 offers a microSDXC interface for added storage capacity.
The LG G3 comes with the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system. KitKat provides improved features to Android. Google Now is integrated deeper into Android. In fact, you can start using Google Now without even having to touch the screen. Instead, you can simply say "OK Google" to your smartphone and you'll be able to do voice search, send a text message, get directions, or even start playing music. Speaking of voices, the phone app has gotten a revamped look. Instead of the tired alphabetical sorting, KitKat will evaluate which contacts you speak with most often and automatically prioritize your contacts list accordingly. Also, the phone app is integrated with Google Maps so you'll be able to look up nearby restaurants and hotels directly from the app. On a related note, Caller ID also gets some Google Maps integration as well. If you receive a call from a phone number that is not in your contacts, Google Maps will search and display any matches from local businesses. It's clear that Google's goal with Android 4.4.2 KitKat is reduced Android fragmentation and a personal, customized experience.
The D855's LTE radio is tuned to frequencies that are most often used in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (international). It can also be used in other parts of the world, however LTE access may be limited or unsupported, depending on the network. Please note that the D855 does not support LTE bands in the United States.
The 13-megapixel rear camera of the LG G3 has a 1/3" sensor size and features Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), which helps reduce blur and shaking.
Laser Auto Focus
The LG G3 provides a laser that measures the distance from the lens to the object instantly. You can also take brighter, clearer pictures even in dark conditions. With its quick focus adjustment, you'll be able to take photos instantly.
Touch & Shoot
Unnecessary icons on the screen are removed to give you a clear view. Plus, it simplifies the process of taking shots. Simply let the LG G3 autofocus and then tap once to take a shot.
Dual LED Flash
The dual LED flash allows you to enhance your photos in low-lit environments. With the Back Side Illuminated (BSI) sensor, the flash produces less blurry and much brighter picture even under poor lighting conditions. Also, having two different colored lights allows the camera to produce a more natural color tone when the flash is used.
Evolved Front Camera
The front camera on the LG G3 also received improvements with a larger image sensor. When you take a selfie with the front camera, the built-in Flash UI gives you bright, lively photos. Moreover, it takes just a simple gesture to activate the selfie function.
