I see that the mics are powered by AA batteries. What about the receiver? Can the receiver run off of battery power, or does it have to be powered by an outlet?

I have two of these units installed in a 40' x 50' room connected via unbalanced outputs to a Dennon PA Amp. Everything works well with all 4 mics when testing the system in an empty room. Once they hold a meeting and fill the room with about 80 people, there is popping and cracking noises. They have shut done all but one of the mics and that seems to solve the problem. I even spread out the operating channels for the mics to prevent interference between the transmitters. Any suggestions as to the source of the problem?
Mine make popping sounds as well. I have used many brands in the past. I'm not a fan of the infra red system, it wastes time and they are still not clear. My Voco Pros work good, but that is a four mic rack system.
