The Creatr 3D Printer is equipped with two nozzles that allow for two-color and even two-material printing at resolutions as fine as 50 microns. The heated build plate supports PLA and ABS printing, as well as a dissolvable filament called PVA. Dual Extruders & Three Materials
Two nozzles on the Creatr allow you to not only print with two colors in over one hundred color combinations, but also enable you to print with more than one material at a time. For example, you can print a complicated design with sturdy ABS filament, while using the second extruder to print supporting material in PLA or PVA plastics, which can then be dissolved for removal. Whereas breaking away ABS-printed support material would leave marks on your 3D prints, dissolving the supporting material will instead result in a smooth surface.
Durable Aluminum
The Leapfrog Creatr is made of laser-cut aluminum parts, engineered to ensure that the accuracy of the printer is unaffected by temperature changes. Instead of using the usual plastic or wood, the Creatr's sturdy aluminum frame was designed to provide durability that does not diminish over time.
Print Out of the Box
The 3D printer is fully assembled and pre-calibrated when it arrives at your doorstep. You will need to install one software program for the conversion of your design from a 3D software STL-file to a printable file (G-code), and another to control the printer. Both are available free of charge on the Leapfrog website.
Starter Package
The Creatr Starter Package comes with the supplies you need to create, prepare, print, and finish your 3D designs. After you've designed your creation in the Simplify3D software, save the file on the Leapfrog USB stick to transfer it to the Creatr. Prepare your printer by affixing one of the included stickers onto the build plate, and choose one or two of the filaments to use in your print. When it's finished printing, remove and finish your 3D object with the tools provided in the Creatr toolkit.
