Hoya EVO Antistatic Protector Filter Overview

The Hoya 77mm EVO Antistatic Protector Filter is a simple, clear filter designed for general protection for your lens. This optically clear filter does not affect the overall image quality while helping reduce dust, scratches, moisture, and other elements from damaging your lens.

The EVO antistatic coating on this filter helps to repel dust, as well as water, scratches, and stains, and aids in making the substrate easy to clean. The 16-layer Super Multi-Coating helps to reduce surface reflections and ghosting for maintained contrast and clarity. The optical glass filter is set within a one-piece low-profile aluminum ring, which lessens the likelihood of vignetting if used on a wide-angle lens. The ring also features front threads for attaching additional filters or lens caps.

The clear filter offers general protection for your lens against the elements.
Optical glass construction and a 16-layer Super Multi-Coating provides 99.8% light transmission for maintained contrast and color fidelity.
EVO antistatic coating helps to repel dust and is also water-, stain-, and scratch-resistant. Additionally, this hardened coating is also easy to clean in order to remove smudges or fingerprints.
One-piece aluminum filter ring features a low profile to reduce the likelihood of vignetting when used on wide-angle lenses. Additionally, this ring incorporates front 77mm filter threads for stacking additional filters or attaching lens caps.

This filter fit just right on my Canon 50mm f1.4 lens. It is now protected from scratches and dirt. It will also help absorb the shock in case I should drop it. It only took two days to get the filter from NYC to Louisiana. Great job on shipping.

Bought this for a Canon RF 50mm f/1.8 lens. Is crystal clear and has absolutely zero effect on image quality. It is my walk around lens, and now I don't use a lens cap with it anymore, this filter protects the front element now from any potential scratches, so I am always ready to shoot.

I prefer these to almost all the others. The coatings are extremely good and I have yet to see any degradation to image quality from the use of these filters.

Just what I needed. Sadly, I've already destroyed 2 other protection filters. I never skimp on protection for my premium lens. I have not yet seen even a hint of reflection in this filter.

Used for peace-of-mind lens protection. For typical photography, don't need color conversion filters attached to my digital cameras. Been fortunate enough not to have tested protector limits, including impact resistance on rest of camera equipment.

In addition to the protection of my expensive Pro glass, the anti-static coating really does keep dust,lint,fur, etc... off the filter, less time cleaning or worry about debris.

This is a good filter. It offers basic protection for the from of my lens. Basically, if the lens gets hit hard in the front, or gets scratched, the $90 filter will get scratched or hit and not the $1500 lens. I bought this filter because it was a little bit more expensive but I believe I have better light transmission through the filter and better lens coatings than a cheaper filter.

When I went digital and really got into photography I tried a variety of different brands of lenses & accessories. Over the years I've come to trust and rely on Hoya filters. When they introduced the antistatic filters I thought I would give them a try. Boy I am glad I did. The quality of the glass, the rim & the coatings is sensational. They stay clean for a long time and when you do need to clean them it's a snap.

How good is it? Has anybody used it?

I have one on my Tokina 11-20 and it works fine. I chose it because of the coatings on each side as wide angle lenses can be prone to flair when shooting into or near the sun. I have other Hoya filters on other lenses that I am very pleased with. 52mm and 77mm.
