Often considered the ideal focal length for portraiture, Mitakon's 85mm f/2 Lens is a manual focus prime designed for FX and DX-sized Nikon F-mount DSLR cameras. The 6 element, 6 group design is housed within a metal lens barrel, which features printed depth of field and distance scales for greater control over focus placement. Complementing the short telephoto perspective, an f/2 maximum aperture enables selective focus and shallow depth of field control as well as enhanced performance in difficult lighting conditions. Furthermore, a 10-blade diaphragm helps to produce pleasing bokeh.

Mitakon Zhongyi Creator 85mm f/2 Overview

Prime portrait-length Nikon F mount lens designed for both DX and FX sensors. On DX-sized sensors, the 35mm-equivalent focal length will be 127.5mm.
Manual focus design is complemented by both depth of field and distance scales for pre-focusing techniques.
Ten-blade diaphragm works well with the short telephoto perspective of the lens to produce a smooth out-of-focus quality in conjunction with selective focus imagery.

I have a nikon d3000. Is it safe to assume that this will only work in manual mode for my camera?
Asked by: Jennifer
Correct. You won't have exposure metering either so be prepared to meter separately or go through a very tedious sequence of trial and error exposure adjustments.

question

Does it has a 'A' position on the aperture ring? If not, is it possible to change the aperture on a Pentax Digital SLR?
Asked by: Yves S.
The lens has no A position, as it does not communicate with the body. The aperture can therefore be set and used on the lens, but will not be recorded in the exif data.

question

Does it have connection pins for exposure metering and diaphragm control or is just 100% manual?
Asked by: dario h.
The light meter still works but you have to set your aperture manually in the camera, and it does have focus confirmation, other than that it's 100% manual.
