Davis & Sanford Steady Stick 3 overview

  • 1Description

The Steady Stick with Quick Release from Davis & Sanford is a compact camera support that shifts the weight of your load to your waist and leaves your hands free to steadily maneuver the camera. A length-adjustable, monopod-like center arm installs into a waist-belt and provides a secure point of stability, while a handle near the camera platform offers another point of balance as well as point of control.

The handle can be adjusted for left or right-handed use, and can also be positioned straight directly behind the camera, in which case you can use it to pan the camera as well as move it in or out. The center arm is adjustable from 22" to 31", allowing you to capture shots from high angles. The included quick release plate is compatible with the Davis and Sanford Provista Tripod Series FM18 Fluid Head. This Steady Stick weighs only 3 lb and supports loads up to 20 lb.

Davis & Sanford Steady Stick 3 reviews

Steady Stick with Quick Release is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from need to improve I just got this SteadyStick few days ago. I like it, but it has a big flaw. Its design is okay, but I don't know what are they thinking. The whole thing is made of metal which looks sturdy, but the whole think that sits on the holder box, and this box is made of plastic. This is the main part that holds the very heavy SteadyStick plus the heavy camcorder on top of this. If this plastic box is broken, then the whole thing is useless. I hope Davis & Sanford (Tiffen is the company that makes it) would produce one with metal holder not plastic like this. P.S. I already made one review few days ago, but they did not post it, why? Are they afraid of the truth?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from This product is okay. I like the design. Everything looks quite okay, sturdy and in metal EXCEPT the main part that hold the stick. I don't know what Davis & Sanford has in mind when they design this one. The whole thing is in metal, and to support (which also is the most important part) this stick rests on a piece of plastic. Why is it so? Why don't you make it also in metal? The stick itself is quite heavy, plus the camcorder on top of it, how could this plastic holder last? I hope Davis & Sanford (or Tiffen as it prints so on the product) would redesign the holder in metal, that would be a perfect item for us videographers.
