Sony RM-SPR1 Reviews
Simple and Effective
I love this remote. It is well designed ergonomically and elegantly simple in a way that reminds me of Apple products.
About this one as a replacement to the more expensive remote. The only thing I don't like is that it takes some getting used to on finding the button. It's not as obvious as I am used to I'm just grabbing and pushing. But I'm adjusting quickly. Works great. Plan on buying a couple more as spares.
Works well, does what it's supposed to do. I use it with my Sony A7 for quick, shake-free snapshoting my film negatives while it's mounted to my film scanning rig. I just recently noticed that I can tap the'okay' button on some of the menus by just pressing on the button on the remote. It saves me a lot of time while working the remote as opposed to the 5-second self timer shot on each frame to eliminate shake, which what I was doing in the past before getting the remote. Seems good quality, should last me many years. Best thing is that it needs no batteries, which would be needed in the case of an IR based remote.
Used it in my outdoor birding blind for less than 2 months and it quit working. Wire began to show where they connect to the plug end. Not recommended.
Simple, no fuss - just works
I have only used it on one shoot, so much easier than the Bluetooth version as I can use the GPS and this RM-Spr1 together. The bluetooth version turns off the connection to the phone for some reason. My only concern is that the USB connector is not very strong - but its really not that expensive.
Bare Bones Remote
Functional remote shutter release at a minimal cost. A lock for ease of longer exposures would have gained a five star rating.
Works as described in the product information. All I needed was a basic cable release and it works well.
