Catering to noise and vibration reduction for shotgun and small diaphragm microphones, the SHM-ESG Suspension Shockmount for Shotgun Microphones from Auray features ABS plastic construction with heavy-duty elastic bands that suspend your microphone and isolate it from vibrations and handling noise. The shockmount will fit microphones between 0.8 and 1.25" (21 and 31.75 mm). It is fitted with a 5/8" thread for compatibility with most microphone stands, and includes a 3/8" adapter for further compatibility.

is it possible to use the auray 7" windsheild with this? or what is reccomended?
The Auray SHM-ESG Suspension Shockmount for Shotgun Microphones (BH # AUSHMESG) must be matched to a particular compatible microphone and then the windshield fitted to the microphone. This shock mount should not interfere with the windshield depending upon the microphone selected.

I was wondering if the 3/8 adapter was for ,like tripod screws, and that sort of use...???
1/4 20 thread is the standard tripod screw.. 3/8th is typically for boom poles, it wont fit on your standard tripod screw (that goes into the camera) but it will how ever go on top of some tripod legs without a head attached if they use a 3/8ths mounting screw for the head.
