I've needed to replace the pads on my M50s for years. I originally tried other aftermarket brands (Brainwavs etc) but those completely destroy the sound profile of these headphones. Finally just got the originals and should've done that all along. While my headband is dry/cracking/peeling(known issues, just poor/cheap materials honestly), the pads feel and make it look brand new again. They feel great and retain the audio characteristics that are crucial for me. I might try some DT770s one day but this pair has lasted me years.
These replacement pads are as good as the original ones for my Audiotechnica ATH-M40X. This is the second time I have purchase this as they tend to get worn fairly quick due to heavy use and living in hot/humid weather. Get them! You will be more than happy to not have all the little pieces of the old earpads all over. Basically refurbished your current one to a like new state.
