Works as expected

Used to connect StarSense to an older CG5-GT and works flawlessly. Just a bit frustrated with Celestron that they price this relatively simple adapter at $70. B and H was great as always.

question

How does the Celestron 6-pin AUX Port Splitter for CG-5 mount (93923) differ from the Celestron Aux Port Splitter (93919)? They look identical, and the info on the Celestron site seems to use them interchangeably
Asked by: David T.
In the picture they look the same but if you buy them you will see that the one made for the CG-5 has heat shrink on the cable. And you can feel some bumps under the heat shrink. Those bumps are resisters that are wired between several of the wires in the cable. I bought the cheaper one but it didn't work consistently on my CG-5. I was told I needed the other unit. It worked. So I used an ohm meter to see what the difference was and then modified the cheaper unit. Worked fine. So now I have a backup splitter to use on my other mount.
