SHAPE DELTA Reviews
Versatile Adapter
Can be used for a monitor, or even a very lightweight mirrorless camera adapter. Works very well with my Nikon Z6 and is a great monitor QR plate for my BMD Video Assist monitor. Cheap enough, especially considering SHAPE has a lifetime warranty on non-electrical parts. Nice option.
It's little; it's shiny and it WORKS!
I've worked in production houses most of my career, with ENG-type cameras that use heavy-duty camera plates and tripod adaptors. Since making the move to the DSLR world, I sometimes miss the solidness of old-school gear, the satisfying click they make when you lock it in. My Panasonic GH4 is a great camera, but I was having to use flimsy plates and lesser tripods in the field. I chatted with a B&H rep about the issue, and he pointed me toward some options. I chose the SHAPE Delta Adapter, and am so glad I did. It fits my needs perfectly! The two stoppers on the back are adjustable and keep the camera from twisting. It fits the camera snugly, and the tripod adaptor plate tightly. The only drawback is that all of the screws require a hex key to remove or adjust. Although the SHAPE Delta Adaptor includes 3 sizes of hex keys, I'm not crazy about keeping them with me at all times, in case I want to remove it. With ENG gear, I rarely removed the adaptor plate, but DSLR's are so versatile. Introduce a Gimbaled Handle to the mix, and suddenly you need to swap out the plate. A quarter, key, or ever-present Leatherman tool doesn't work on a hex bolt! Other than making sure I have an additional tool in the camera case, I'm very happy with this solid little product.
