Macphun TN1-ESD Overview

Elevate your monochrome photography with Macphun's Tonality Pro 1.0 for Mac, an advanced, comprehensive black-and-white image editing software. It is a standalone application, but improves upon the standard version with its ability to be used as a plug-in for Adobe Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Lightroom, and Apple Aperture. Featuring 16-bit RAW processing, layers and presets, film and lens blur emulation, and other useful tools, the program takes inspiration from film and darkroom photo effects and applies them to the digital medium.

Tonality Pro includes all the features of the standard version of Tonality, plus a number of welcomed additions and improvements. It offers over 150 professional one-click presets, a proprietary glow engine, a realistic grain engine, and sophisticated clarity, structure, and detail controls. Benefit from texture overlays with support for custom texture creation, as well. Three layers have been added, bringing the total to 8, and blending modes are now available, too. Vignettes have been upgraded with luminosity and center point control. Additionally, the software features Adaptive Exposure, Smart Contrast, and Shadow Recovery tools.

Tonality Pro is compatible exclusively with Mac operating systems and works with OS X 10.8 or later.

    Features a native RAW processing engine with 16-bit support, giving you the benefits of using the whole tonal range in your image without having to employ other software to convert your RAW files.
    Over 150 Presets
    With just one click, transform your work from a good image into a masterpiece. Grouped in categories such as Vintage, Portrait, Dramatic, and Film Emulation, presets are a great place to get instant results or give you a starting point for more creative explorations.
    Clarity and Structure Controls
    Manage the clarity and structure of your layers. Tonal protection ensures that you get details just where you need them. Control both the amount and the level of protection for structure, and do the same for micro structure when you want more detailed, fine-tuned adjustments.
    Toning Controls
    Use Color Filters with adjustable luminance and saturation to provide unique styles and selective color. Mimic film looks with Split Toning, and add that extra vintage look with realistic grain. Use the Tone Curve to make various fine adjustments. Sliders let you tweak settings for highlights, midtones, shadows, whites, and blacks. Adaptive Exposure, Smart Contrast, and Shadow Recovery help you control the brightness of the photo, so that no area is too dark or too light and you get the most from your image's dynamic range. You can also choose to go with standard exposure and contrast as opposed to the Adaptive and Smart options.
    One-Click B&W HDR
    Software features a dedicated preset category for black-and-white HDR, giving you a wide array of possibilities for striking shots.
    Multiple Layers
    Enjoy creative flexibility and easy selective adjustments using layers and masking. There's no need to switch to Photoshop or other applications, since you can do everything within Tonality. Add selective adjustments only to the areas you want to alter with an adjustable brush, eraser, and gradient tools. The program's pressure-sensitive brushes are ideal for Wacom and similar tablets. These, along with 6 blending modes and separate opacity controls, give you mastery over your creative vision.
    Emulations, Textures, and More
    Nineteen different film emulations, including Agfa, Kodak, Fuji, and Ilford, provide distinct, timeless looks with just a single click. Add a realistic film grain effect to create even more authenticity and impact, thanks to the grain simulation engine, which allows you to select the amount, softness, and contrast you desire. The glow control lets you create a soft, dream-like look and feel. Lens Blur emulation lets you mimic the effect of a prime lens, and gives you sliders for adjusting the amount, radius, and transition of the effect. Textures, tones, vignettes, and frames are also available to assist you in the creation of striking looks that reflect your artistry. Select from 24 available textures, including paper, metal, and film, and create your own textures by importing them into Tonality for a unique and customized look.
    Exporting and Sharing
    Export to TIFF, PSD, JPEG, and a host of other file formats, and send your final image to Macphun's print lab to get sharp, detailed prints. Take advantage of the ability to share your work via social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, SmugMug, and more--all without having to leave Tonality.
