question

can this be purchased as a motorized unit?

There is a motor unit you can buy, that does time lapse and continuous run. However I would recommend the 32 slider because it has a more useful arc radius for interviews.

question

I'm looking to use this during an interview for my second, wide angle. Can anyone confirm that at the right distance from the subject as the camera pan from the curve, will the subject stay in the same framing? And if so, about what the distance from the subject is?
Asked by: Ryon H.
The VS32 PMG-Duo 32 slider is two sliders in one. The straight track is 32 in length. The curved side on the reverse has a radius of 72 or 6 feet. If you keep your subjects or objects centered at a distance of 72 or 6 feet the slider will move slightly around them. This adds a great touch of dynamic movement in your shot.

What is the max payload?

From the manufacturer's website, up to 20 lbs .We haven't put that much weight on ours, but we're very satisfied with this slider.

question

No mention whatsoever of weight capacity? How much does this reliably support?
Asked by: Chris
20 lbs at least, this is avery robust system. In their video, PMG suspended a guy from the slider and slid him back and forth, easily.

question

I have a Sony FS5 Video camera. Is it necessary to mount it on a head first, or can I mount it directly on the platform (I have never used a slider before)?
Asked by: Anonymous
You can mount your camera on the slider either way. Your camera can be mounted directly to the carriage using the supplied 1/4-20 Mounting screw or mount a head with the supplied 3/8-16 mounting screw. Your moves will be limited without the flexibility of the head but the slider will work the same.
