I have an older Bose surround sound speaker system, 4 speakers, a tweeter, and a bass. Will this system work with this eq.?
Asked by: Richard
The Yamaha A-S301 is a stereo amplifier for powering speakers and does not function as a standalone EQ.

How sensitive is the remote volume control at lower levels? My Denon PMA-600NE jumps too much from the lowest settings.
Asked by: Larry
Thanks. I think the problem may be that the Denon uses a (stepper?) motor to physically adjust the volume -- the knob actually moves during volume adjustment using the remote. That seems to be an unnecessary complication.

This amp, like the S501 and the S701, shows the tone controls at Bass (20 Hz) and Treble (20kHz), +/- 10 db. What does this mean? Most people can't hear anything at 20 or 20k hz anyway. Thanks
Asked by: John
The +/- treble and bass controls on the Yamaha A-S301 receiver gives you control over the level of the bass and treble roll off so that you can increase the bass for enhanced bass response or decrease it if you feel the bass coming out of your particular speakers might be too strong and it would be the same for the treble.

None of the A-S#01 amplifiers has a Line Out - Front panel controls don't affect REC outputs. How to connect Bluetooth XMTR?
Asked by: Larry
From the Manual: REC jacks • The audio signals are not output via the LINE 2 REC or LINE 3 REC output jacks when LINE 2 or LINE 3 is selected with the INPUT selector. • The VOLUME, BASS, TREBLE, BALANCE and LOUDNESS controls and the CD DIRECT function (or the PURE DIRECT function) have no effect on the source being recorded.

Can you hook up a equalizer to the Yamaha. A-s301
Asked by: Anonymous
l just ordered the A-S301. Here's how l'm going to connect my EQ to it. Gonna connect all playback devices to an RCA 8 way switch selector. Then connect the selector to the EQ in. And go from the EQ out to one of the amp's inputs.

Is the Yamaha As301 good amplifier for my ...

Is the Yamaha As301 good amplifier for my Infinity Primus 360 Speakers (nominalimped.8 Ohms?
Asked by: Jacob
The Yamaha A-S301 Stereo Integrated Amplifier (Black), BH # YAAS301BL, will drive your Infinity Primus 360 speakers as they are rated up to 200 watts at 8-ohm impedance. The Yamaha A-S301 is rated at 60W per Channel RMS at 8 ohms and will drive these speakers to a comfortable level in a small space. For optimal performance, consider a higher wattage amplifier like the Yamaha A-S801 Integrated Amplifier (Black), B&H # YAAS801BL: 120W x 2 (6 Ohm RMS) power output.

question

it makes sense to add onto the question I had last night about the Yamaha amplifier. What you need to know is you sell the Samsung TV J5500 in 40 inch. I got the 32 inch and it has the sound choices which are driving me nuts. I got it quickly knowing the Sony 40 inch was too large for the space in the entertainment center. So you can look at what is on the back of that TV and see the outputs which would go to the amplifier and from the amp to the B & O speakers. My question again: what do I use for the TV to the amplifier connection and then the amplifier to the speakers?? I do not understand banana plugs and there is no place on the amplifier for loose end speaker wires. Thank you!!
Asked by: Miriam F. G.
The receiver offers binding posts that allows for bare wired speaker cables to be wrapped around the terminal posts for the speaker inputs:1. Connecting speaker cables:2. Remove approximately 10 mm (3/8 in) of insulation from the end of each speaker cable.3. Twist the bare wires of the cable firmly together.4. Unscrew the knob.5. Insert one bare wire into the hole in the side of each terminal. Tighten the knob to secure the wire. The TV audio would route from the TV's digital optical output to the amplifier's digital optical input via a TOSLINK cable. Yamaha Owner's Manual: http://bit.ly/1ON0NfG
