Sony MDRXB950BT overview

  • 1Description

The Sony MDR-XB950BT/B Extra Bass Bluetooth Headset implements support for SBC, AAC, and aptX wireless audio streaming codecs with an electronic boost circuit for more substantial low end. The headset features 40mm dome drivers to deliver a frequency response of 3 to 28,000 Hz into a 24 Ω load with a sensitivity of 102 dB/mW when used passively with the supplied cord. In wireless operation, the headphones can transmit a frequency response of 20 to 20,000 Hz approximately 30' by using the A2DP Bluetooth profile (Sampling Frequency 44.1 kHz).

For 2.4 GHz Bluetooth v3.0 operation, the built-in lithium-ion rechargeable battery can provide up to 20 hours of music playback, 20 hours of continuous communication, or 200 hours of standby time on a 4 hour charge.

Connection to your mobile device is made even easier through the inclusion of one-touch Near Field Communication (NFC) pairing with NFC-capable devices. Calls can be answered and terminated with a simple push of a button on the headset. When a call is over, any music or media that was playing will automatically resume.

The swiveling earcups fold flat for greater portability, and the headset comes with both a micro-USB cord for charging as well as a stereo connecting cable for passive operation.

    Sony MDRXB950BT reviews

MDR-XB950BT/B Extra Bass Bluetooth Headset is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 73.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Headphones The headphones are amazing. They can be used for practically anything, including listening to music or watching videos. The Bluetooth connection makes the headphones even better, as you will not be restrained by pesky wires. The noise cancellation is pretty good, and it helps me listen with no interruption. The sound is good quality, no static or anything. Just clear, pure, sound. On the other hand, they cannot be folded into a compact version, so they may feel a little bulky at times. Overall, however, they are great headphones.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome Pair of Headphones I use the headphones to listen to music from either my phone or my ipod, I also watch videos on my computer. I love the bluetooth, and the one touch is great with my phone. The range is superb, and having the wired connection is just a bonus. The bass boost s usually unneeded. The headphones are so comfortable and the controls are easy to use. The battery life is great too. The price was also great because they were half off. Sony makes great products, the headphones are very sturdy and great quality both sound and build and very comparable to other Bluetooth headphones that are more expensive. Every now and then the sound gets skippy, but I think that might be my internet connection and spotify. The controls also don't work when the headphones are wired.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I wanted I wanted wireless headphones to use at the gym because I was tired of earphones falling off while running on the treadmill or doing other physical activities. They're comfortable and work as advertised. They do cover your whole ear, which I wanted. I can see why others may not like the size. They're big. However, that's one of the reasons WHY I got them. I like that style I suppose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from after 1 week of extensive use Before sony MDR xb95bt, I used beats studio and beats in ear , but this one beats every beats audio headsets and over the ear head sets. Pros :- The sponge is oval in shape , exactly to the shape of ear , so its 100% noise cancellation over the ear headphones. Its nfs ,bluetooth are simple to configure , bass boost makes you feel that you are in concert. Battery backup is amazing, one full charge gave me 16 hours non stop music . you will listen true sounds and upper nodes are not cancelled. If you are having eye glasses , then it will not pain your ear as it doesnot sit on your ear , rather it makes your ear fit inside its oval shape sponge. While using different bluetooth headsets , i used to have headach after 4 -5 hours of use , but these bluetooth headesets had no impact on my headache . Cons There are no cons at all ,its 100% good deal for your purse. Its not foldable like beats stuido you dont get a pouch for keeping your headsets while travelling ,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unbelievably amazing quality headphones for so little!!!!!! I have been doing so much research and finally settled on the Sony Extra Bass Bluetooth headset and I couldn't have made a better choice!!! I feel like it was a steal buying these headphones with all of the amenities included, not to mention bluetooth! I bought both these and Studio Beats and I returned the Beats without any hesitation. You gotta get these headphones!!!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect Balance between cost and quality My previous headphones began cutting out, and I decided to go find some good over-the-ear headphones that I could wear on my 40-minute walks to and from work each day, as well as during work. I wanted something with clear sound quality, but I'm not sensitive enough to notice the truly high-quality difference, and I also wanted something that can pump out some bass when I'm in a pump-up mood. I was looking to spend $-$, and these came in at $. They were the only headphones I listened to that sounded clear, had strong but not overpowering bass levels, were comfortable, and were in my price range. And as a bonus, they're NFC and Bluetooth enabled!I'm very satisfied with my purchase, but I'm only giving it 4 stars, because no case was included, which I see as a big deal for something that travels often and costs almost $.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Punches above its weight! For this price range, these are fantastic, possibly the best wireless headphones. I've experienced no discomfort after wearing these throughout the workday and never have to worry about battery life. Bass boost is great but definitely not necessary, because the sound quality is very balanced without it. I've had no issues pairing these headphones with several devices and it's great every time. My only gripe is the passive sound isolation, which is decent but still requires volume increases for busy streets or on the bus.
