Featuring plug-and-play functionality when used with Mac or Windows computers, or iOS devices with Lightning connector, the iConnectMIDI2+ from iConnectivity is designed to serve as a two input, two output MIDI interface. Supporting the standard 16 channels of MIDI I/O per port over its four 5-pin DIN connectors, this interface allows you to connect your computer or iOS device to multiple MIDI controllers, synthesizers, modules, drum machines and more. It also features dual USB ports for connecting up to two computing devices at once, allowing for advanced MIDI routing and control between all connected peripherals.

In addition to transmitting MIDI, the iConnectMIDI2+'s Audio passThru technology routes audio via USB as well, appearing as an audio interface to your devices' operating systems. This allows you to route audio between your computing devices digitally, as well as MIDI. This can be used in a multitude of applications, such as sequencing and tracking a synth on your iPad with your host DAW, or you could process a software instrument in your DAW through an effects processing app like an amp simulator on your iPhone.

Features:
  • iConfig software allows for complete control over how MIDI is routed, remapped and filtered to and from all devices connected to it.
  • 2-in & 2-out sets of MIDI DIN connectivity
  • "MultiHost" capability - connect 2 computing devices simultaneously
  • Supports Mac, PC, and iOS computing devices
  • Audio passThru from one computing device to another
  • Integrated MIDI manager with "Snapshot" preset storage - for MIDI thru, MIDI merge, filtering, and advanced routing control
  • USB MIDI class compliant
  • USB bus powered
  • Supports 10 ports of 16 channels of MIDI I/O per port
  • Plug-and-play - no drivers needed

    iConnectMIDI2+ - 2-In/2-Out USB & Lightning iOS MIDI Interface is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Brilliant little box This is a very well-designed gadget for a specific purpose: interconnecting two Macs or a Mac and an iOS device so that MIDI and audio can flow back and forth between them or even between different applications on each device. It also allows you to mix software MIDI commands with MIDI from hardware devices, and to flexibly route the messages or even remap them. It's very powerful, very small, and quite stable. But there are some things it does not do (probably by design), in particular, analog audio. Don't look for XLR inputs or 1/8 stereo outputs because there aren't any. It also doesn't include any printed documentation, or the AC adapter you will need if you're going to use this with an iOS device. Also, while its routing and mapping abilities are very powerful, be prepared for a steep learning curve, even if you know a lot about MIDI. The documentation and interface are both confusing so you'll need a lot of trial and error to get it working.Overall, five stars for design and functionality. Minus one star for not including the AC adapter, and for insufficiently documenting its most powerful features.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product and good software support The device is fully configurable. I employed it to link my two midi keyboards to my ipad 4. The keyborads not only communicate with the ipad (and vice versa) but are able to talk each other. Very powerful routing options. I did not use the passtrough audio feature. The free app for configuration of device can be downloaded on iTunes Store. Great app!! The device is very sturdy and will last a long time. Doesn't not come with a power supply. If you want to charge your ipad at the same time you need a 6 V and 3 A with positive center plug. I recommend buying one.
