Epson Home Cinema 3500 Overview

Bringing the movie theater experience to your living room, the Epson Home Cinema 3500 1080p 3LCD Projector supports Full HD in both 2D and 3D and features a brightness of 2500 lumens. A 1.6x zoom, 1.32 to 2.15:1 throw ratio, and vertical and horizontal lens shift mean this adaptable projector can accommodate many different room and screen sizes, and is suitable for screens up to 300" diagonal. Not only can the projector accept video in its native 1080p, but it can also take a range of non-native resolutions from 480i up to WXGA (1280 x 800) thanks to internal scaling.

The Home Cinema 3500 features multiple inputs so that you can connect it to all sorts of devices, from Blu-ray players to computers. There are two HDMI inputs, one with MHL support so that you can keep your mobile device's battery topped up while it's plugged in. Next is a component input for analog SD and HD devices, which sits alongside a composite input for legacy SD equipment such as VCRs. A VGA port is provided, as well, and is mainly used for connecting computers that lack HDMI output.

An IR remote is included, plus there is RS-232 for integrating the projector with automation systems such as Crestron.

3LCD Technology
A beamsplitter sends red, blue, and green light through three monochrome LCD panels to render a video image. 3LCD design features no moving parts in the imaging system, although there is still a cooling fan, and is free of the "rainbow effect" artifact sometimes perceived on color wheel-based systems
1.6x Zoom and 1.32 to 2.15:1 Throw Ratio
Throw ratio is one of the most important specifications a projector lens has as it tells you the image size (width) you will get at a give distance from the screen. For example, at the 1.31x zoom setting and a 10' distance this projector will throw a 73"-wide (84"-diagonal) image
2500 Lumens Color Brightness
This projector features both 2500 lumens white brightness and 2500 lumens color brightness. Some projectors only specify the white brightness in their lumens ratings, even though in many cases color portions of the image will be less bright than comparable gray scales

Determining the correct brightness for your applications requires taking into account the amount of ambient light (if any) in the room, the screen material used, the throw distance, and the content being shown.
16:9 Native Aspect Ratio
This projector features Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, which results in a 16:9 "widescreen" native aspect ratio - the standard for HDTVs. In addition, the projector can show 4:3 content, either by adding black bars to the sides (pillaring), stretching the image to fit, or cropping the image
Lens Shift
Lens shift performs a similar function to keystone correction, allowing the image to be correctly aligned if vertically or horizontally off-center relative to screen. The advantage of lens shift over keystone correction is that it is an optical adjustment, and does not impact image qualify. This projector supports up to 60% vertical and 24% horizontal adjustment
3D Support
View Full HD (1080p) and 720p 3D content, including movies and sporting events - two pairs of rechargeable RF 3D glasses included
USB Connectivity
A USB type A female port allows you to connect a flash drive or other USB storage device to project JPG images. It can also be used to install a separately available wireless LAN module
RS-232 Controllable
An RS-232 port allows this projector to be integrated with automation systems such as Crestron
Mobile High-Definition Link (MHL) Compatibility
This projector is a able to support MHL devices through one of its two HDMI ports. This means the connected mobile device can charge while connected to the projector. A separately available MHL to HDMI adapter cable is required
Seven Color Modes
Choose the mode that is optimal for the content you will be showing. Settings include: Auto, Dynamic, Living Room, Natural, Cinema, 3D Dynamic, and 3D Cinema
Additional Features
Two 10-watt speakers for those times when you don't have a separate sound system
Super Resolution and Detail Enhancement help maximize detail, even in HD video
Dynamic contrast ratio of 70,000
