TrekPak 016000-5050-110 Overview

This Divider Kit from TrekPak is designed for use within a Pelican 1600 Large Protector Case. It can replace an existing divider system, or be used to create partitions within a compatible and completely empty Pelican case. TrekPak divider kits utilize water-, tear-, and shred-resistant foam dividers with a corrugated plastic core, plus steel U-shaped divider locking pins. Once installed, they maximize available carrying space, protect equipment or valuables for transport, and provide interior organization that can easily be rearranged or customized along with any changes to the contents of the Pelican case.

The divider kit's design allows one of the two prongs on a divider locking pin to be inserted within a partition's corrugated core. Two adjacent partitions can accommodate both prongs on a single divider locking pin, resulting in them being firmly held together. Each divider locking pin features a nylon pull tab for easy removal, and the rapid release of any connected partitions.

Included within this divider kit are two perimeter insert sections, two 23" divider sections, two 10" divider sections, 30 divider locking pins, a divider cutter, and one bottom as well as one convoluted, egg-crate top foam unit. To ensure that the dividers properly correspond to a Pelican 1600 Large Protector Case's 7.99" internal height, the bottom foam unit must always be used when installing this divider kit. The perimeter insert sections can then be placed on top of the bottom foam unit so that together, they conform to the interior sides of the Pelican case. Like the dividers, the perimeter insert sections are constructed from foam with a corrugated core so a partition can be connected to the perimeter insert sections by a divider locking pin.

Items to be stored within the Pelican case can then be arranged on top of the bottom foam unit and within the perimeter insert sections before they are segmented using the dividers. Like the divider locking pins, the cutting tool integrates with the dividers' corrugated core. Multiple partitions can be quickly, easily, and precisely created by sliding the cutting tool through the dividers which can then be arranged and rearranged according to whatever is placed within the Pelican case.

A previously-installed top foam unit within a compatible Pelican case's lid does not need to be replaced with the included convoluted, egg-crate foam. However, when in use, the egg-crate foam's soft peaks help maximize cushioning to the contours of items that come into the most contact with it.

Great Product ... and almost enough of it.

This is a huge upgrade from pick-n-pull foam, may not offer as much protection if you drop your Pelican off a cliff, but for normal use, it's fantastic! You'll get much more gear into your case - and your OCD heartstrings will sing with joy :) The only downside (as reported by others) is that it's not quite enough material unless you're just doing cameras/lenses or bigger gear, get the accessory pack (about another $25) it's well worth it - they ought to push the add-on more. Buying it later means waiting a few days with a nearly-finished case ... and the amount of packaging that BH ships the extra panels in is obscene. This product deserves 5 stars, but it bugs me that they show the demo photos with more inserts than come on the package. Buy it -- you'll be happy :)

Good product but too expensive

Considering it’s just corrugated plastic with a thin layer of padding glued on, you really ought to get more of it for $150. If you’re not in a rush, wait for the chinese knock off to come out.

Overpriced OK dividers

As others note, there is not enough divider material, by far. B&H does not carry the extra material which is hard to find on Pelicans site. There is a crummy foam bottom which does hold the panels in place, but will not last. The panels cannot be pinned back to back in line, but must be offset one cell. Cuts must be made in 1/8 increments, as that is the cell spacing in the dividers. Cuts for a 90 degree bend are a nightmare to make. I just made through cuts and pinned the two pieces together. Put some dry lube on the cutter provided as it gets lots of friction from the adhesive used in the panels. Yes, I have more/better space in my 1600 case and would rate this a 4 with two more 23 panels included with it.

Great system

Brings rigidity and cushions the compartments. Much better than the flimsy old divider systems that Pelican sells with their cases or the pluck foam systems that shred, tear and lose their shape. Only draw back is the price...very expensive for what it is. BUT it's the only system that is really well designed and works as it should. If you want to save your gear from getting banged up this is what you need!

WAY too little material

Too little material even for the most basic set-up. Contacting customer support sends you to buy-more link.

Where's the rest of it?

Whoa. Someone is making A LOT of money on these. Good quality and well thought out but no where near enough to complete your case and far too expensive. You will probably need two kit's to complete one 1600 case

Glowing review with caveat

Like all Pelican products this is beautifully made with quality material's.The problem is the price. The basic case was $205. This Trek Pak was an additional $154.Because they don't provide enough material to complete fitting the case I now have to spend an additional $154.00 bringing the total to over $500! This is getting near the cost of a custom Leather Camera case.... As most (if not ALL) of the other reviewer's have said it is WAY-OVERPRICED! Also agree with another reviewer that this is currently the best case storage system.Would have given it a five if (A) it was less expensive, and/or (B) they would provide additional panel's

Not enough divider material. Very nice product though.

Reading the reviews and looking at the stock photo...I thought no way you need more than that...I was wrong. B&H photo is great, The divider kit is very nice, my complaint is Pelican way overcharges for this item. No way is worth what they charge.
