Ilford Delta 100 overview

  • 1Description

Ilford's Delta 100 Professional is a medium-speed black and white negative film featuring core-shell crystal technology in order to produce extremely sharp results with a fine, uniform grain structure. It has a nominal sensitivity of ISO 100/21° when developed in standard black and white chemistry, but its wide exposure latitude permits rating the film between EI 50 and EI 200 with maintained results. This versatile film is especially well-suited for fine art and pictorial use, as well as general applications requiring high edge sharpness and unobtrusive grain.

This item is one 100'-long roll of standard-perforation 35mm film designed for bulk loading applications.

Ilford Delta 100 reviews

Delta 100 Professional Black and White Negative Film (35mm Roll Film, 100' Roll) is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from great film for fine detail I found I needed an additional choice besides my bulk roll of cubic-grained 400 speed film. The two competitors were Ilford Delta 100 and the other big manufacturer's 100 speed T-Grain film. Both are great for different reasons but I appreciate the mid tones of the Delta film for portraiture, pet photography, and studio work. This film has responded well to both developers I have used: Caffenol-C and the other manufacturer's T-Grain specific developer. I trusted this film enough to use it for the solar eclipse... an event that lasts for only a minute or two and then is gone for years at a time. This is praise for the reliability and dependability of this emulsion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from bulk film, iso 100 I haven't tried other bulk rolls, but I dig this one so far. Ilford iso 100 is pretty sweet, and the grain's almost non existent. Favorite part is definitely how the roll isn't too tight. One of the most annoying things is opening the casette to load the film for developing, and the roll is too tight it's almost impossible to load without getting your fingers all over the negs. Also, I like the sweet box. Oh, and Im not a pro. I'm a student. :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost gone! I'm sad because I'm down to my last few cassettes from the 100' bulk roll I bought last year! Really fine grain and sharp images, even in the 35mm format. It's my go-to b/w landscape film, and responds well to a red #25 filter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for 35mm destined for scanning I've been getting back into black and white film, and kept trying different stocks, never really settling on one. But after a few rolls of Delta 100 shot and developed at 200 ISO, I decided to stick with it for a least 100 feet. 200 iso gives a little more contrast and just a little more grain, and it's working out perfectly for what I shoot--mostly people in natural light outside. The dynamic range is incredible, and I've yet to have a photo that isn't at least in the ballpark of usable. I use HC-110 to develop, and scan the negs. For 120/medium format, I still may stick to Tri-X, but for 135 and scanning, Delta 100 is really good. Also, Ilford film seems to dry flatter than Tri-X (which I have to let dry, and then leave under some books for the night before scanning).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Go To 35mm 100 ISO B&W Film I have shot Delta 100 off and on over the years and been happy with the results. After a recent shoot this past spring with Delta 100 and my bulk roll of Kodak Plus X finally depleted, it was no brainer to get a 100' and shoot away. I use Ilford Delta 100 For: landscapes, nature and portraiture. Process in Xtol 1+1, Ilfotec DDX 1+4 and Tmax Developer 1+4 (while it's still available) for the best results in my opinion. and I really can't think of anything bad to say about this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My New Go To 100 ISO 35mm B&W film I use this film for landscapes, portraiture and fine art photography. -Very low to no grain with Xtol and Tmax developers. -Great for scanning and printing on an enlarger.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I will buy this product again Ilford film is high grade. I like it a lot. I also enjoy shooting B/W pictures and B/W is easy to develop in a daylight processing tank. I'm still experimenting with different developers, but have had good results using D76 in a 1:1 single use solution. My next 100' roll from B&H will probably be a 400 ISO roll of Alford Delta 35MM film.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not used yet. Haven't used it yet - but - you'll have to pull Ilford film and paper out of my cold, dead hands after I am deceased! So far, Ilford film and paper JUST ROCKS!!! Grey scale - AWESOME! Am switching over to Arista Paper Developer for possible better results in printing than Kodak's.
