The CMIT SSFT SET from Scheops features a condenser shotgun microphone, suspension mount, and a softie wind shield. It can be used to capture audio in various environments for applications such as professional film, audio for video, music recording, and more. The CMIT SSFT set includes a Schoeps CMIT5U shotgun microphone, a Rycote InVision microphone suspension with Lyre shockmount, and a 15cm Super-Softie wind shield.

  • CMIT5U Shotgun Microphone (Blue)

    The Schoeps CMIT5U is a high quality professional long shotgun microphone that reflects the performance and sound quality expected of Schoeps. The CMIT5U is designed for professional film, video and music recording applications, capturing both dialog and instruments with great detail and accuracy. The microphone features a directional pattern with low-coloration at the off-axis sections of the capsule. Low and high frequencies are captured at a wider pick up area than that of mid-range frequencies. The result enables audio engineers to cue the boom and keep actors "on mike" with more precision.

    The microphone provides a series of frequency contouring switches. The high-frequency emphasis switch enhances vocal intelligibility and compensates for high-frequency loss caused by windscreens. A steep low-cut filter switch reduces wind and handling noise while the gentle low-frequency roll-off compensates for noise caused by proximity effect. LED indicators provide a reading of settings in low-light and the settings are retained after power down.

    Exceptional Rejection of Off-Axis Audio
    Low-coloration of off-axis audio result in a narrow pick-up pattern. Mid-range frequencies are captured at a more generous area for more accurate capturing of dialog.
    Frequency Contour Switches
    Three frequency contour switches provide a high-frequency rise and enhanced vocal intelligibility as well as noise suppression from wind, handling and proximity effect.
    Versatile Sonic Characteristics
    The wide frequency response and sensitivity response characteristics enable the microphone to accurately capture dialog and instruments.
  • 15cm Super-Softie Wind Shield for Shotgun Mics

    The Rycote 15cm Super-Softie Wind Shield for Shotgun Mics features an aerodynamic shape and surface structure made from the company's 3D-Tex material, which allows for attenuation of wind noise with acoustic transparency. It is suitable for a variety of sound recording applications including video, ENG, and more.

    The 15cm Super-Softie has no rigid internal structure, thus it causes virtually no polar pattern distortion. Its robust design has been engineered for use in challenging environments, and if it becomes rain-soaked, it can be squeezed out and shaken dry quickly. Also, if it becomes coated with dust it can be rinsed quickly without affecting its performance.

  • InVision INV-HG mkIII Microphone Suspension - Lyre Shockmount

    The Rycote InVision INV-HG mkIII Microphone Suspension addresses the demand for a heavy-duty shockmount to secure shotgun microphones. The INV-HG mkIII will minimalize handling noise, rumble, and vibration in all speech-capturing applications.

    The InVision Lyre cradle accommodates most microphones measuring 19 to 34mm in diameter, like the Sennheiser MKH416 or MKH60. The cradle stabilizes even heavy microphones and allows the use of windscreens without sagging. A heavy duty swivel with a star knob fastens your mic tightly in place. The Lyre cradle rests on a miniature bar with a 3/8" threaded base and includes a 5/8" adapter.

    The INV-HG mkIII base features an integrated cable clamp for securing excess cable and minimizing noise. The unique Lyre suspension and cable clamp are engineered with Hytrel for a virtually indestructible design that maximizes shock and noise absorbtion.

    Large Lyre Suspension for Boom Operation
    The Patented Rycote Lyre suspension cradle measures 70mm high and 40mm wide to accommodate heavier microphones. This is ideal for static stand mounting as well as boom placement.
    19 to 34mm Mounting Cradle
    The cradle included with this system accommodates microphone diameters measuring between 19 to 34mm. The interior is treated with a soft-grip surface for a perfect, non-slip fitting.
    Hytrel Construction
    The unique Lyre suspension is engineered with Hytrel for a virtually indestructible design that maximizes shock and noise absorbtion.
    Integrated 3/8" Threaded Base with 5/8" Stand Adapter

    Additional Information Finding the correct slip-on windshield will depend on the type, length, and diameter of the microphone. Slip-on windshields are designed for cylindrical shotgun mics, ranging from 19-25 mm in diameter. 

     

    For any windshield to work effectively it must cover all the ports on the microphone. Therefore a 15 cm slip-on windshield would be suitable for shotgun microphones, with slots no further than 15 cm from the front of the mic. 

     

    The diameter of the microphone is also key, as the fit must be tight in order to achieve a good seal. Rycote slip-on windshields come in three diameter fittings, Universal (19-25 mm), Standard (19-22 mm), or Large (24-25 mm).
