    Tiffen MI6275 reviews

    37mm 0.65x Wide-Angle Conversion Lens is rated 3.2 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from No distortion? No vignetting? It's not really a wide-angle conversion lens, it's a fish-eye conversion lens, with radical barrel distortion and a totally vignetted, circular image on any wide-ish angle host lens. And very, very soft on the edges. On the plus side, it is cheap.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works on Elmo PTC-110R PTZ cam Needed a wide angle attachment lens for an Elmo SD ceiling PTZ camera to widen the field of view, couldn't move the camera - no room. This conversion lens made in Japan, for $ bucks was great, focus was good throughout the zoom range, low distortion, and no vignetting. It's a clip-on unit, but don't forget to turn it 1/4 turn clockwise to really secure it.(Additional note: The carrying case looked very used, but the lens was A-OK. Can't complain for a $ lens.)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't bother, it's a toy! Take the lens out and no changes in the view. Does not have any affect. 0.65x is a lie! it's not even that. Not only that, I was sent a used one! B&H should think carefully before selling this kind of junks!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Has it's Trade-Offs The lens build is balanced to be light, but durable enough to hold up. However, when you push in the tabs to activate the quick connect, the plastic around then lens makes a cracking sound. I do not think it is actually cracking. The ring cover is designed to flex a bit so that it does not become brittle and break. The rest of the frame is a stronger plastic. Do not expect the same clarity as your native lens at this price. It will most definitely reduce the sharpness to a degree. You must consider the trade-offs for getting a wide-angle shot. At 0.65x it will give you approximately 1/4 more viewable area in your frame. The result is a fairly sharp center with a graduated loss of focus towards the edges. Also expect purple fringing around the edges. There is also vignetting (shadow) around the extreme edges if fully zoomed out. Considering that being fully zoomed out is the point in wide shots, you will always have vignetting. However, this is minimal and hardly noticeable. I use an older Canon VIXIA HF-M301 A. This quick connect lens mounted firmly to my 37mm camcorder, which appears to be the standard size for most small consumer video cameras (double-check your size before purchasing). I bought this because I can never get a wide enough shot of the entire family gathering for things like singing happy birthday. Before when I'd pan to capture another's expression, I always seem to miss something special elsewhere. For the first time I was able to get everyone with this lens. The minor blurring is still a concern, but this is where the quick disconnect is appreciated. Once done with a wide shot, I can quickly remove the lens while recording. Likewise I can quickly put the lens back on. I got mine during an exceptional DealZone offer, but even at full price this lens is still affordable. It comes in a foam-lined protective case, and though not mentioned in the description, it also comes with 2 lens covers (front and back).
