This is a manufacturer's kit that includes a 4-Bay Tower Enclosure that has a single Mini-SAS port as well as a Mini-SAS to Thunderbolt adapter with a RAID controller so it may be used with Thunderbolt-compatible computers.
This RAID comes with 4 SATA III / SAS II 3.5" drive bays and is compatible with Windows and Mac systems. The hardware RAID controller is on the RocketStor and supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, and JBOD configurations to deliver the performance and data protection needed by those working with 4K media applications.
This RocketStor features two Thunderbolt 2 ports that each provide up to 20 Gb/s of bandwidth and are also backwards compatible with 10 Gb/s Thunderbolt technology. Thunderbolt technology allows you to daisy-chain up to six devices together such as additional Thunderbolt storage, Thunderbolt displays, Mini DisplayPort devices, and more. The RocketStor 6324AS kit operates at 90-264 VAC and includes a 3.3' / 1.0m Thunderbolt cable, one Mini-SAS cable, an external power adapter, and a limited 1-year warranty.
Thunderbolt 2 Connectivity
The RocketStor 6324AS utilizes high-performance Thunderbolt 2 connectivity in conjunction with Mini-SAS device connectivity and is capable of supporting both RAID Storage, LTO tape drives, and LTO libraries. Each simple and robust Mini-SAS connector can directly support up to 4 SAS/SATA hard drives and 32TB of storage capacity. The second Mini-SAS port on the adapter can be used to support an optional 4-Bay RocketStor 6414S Tower Enclosure, an LTO Tape drive, or a library device.
The RocketStor 6324AS is suitable for RAID 5/6 storage applications that require maximum sustained performance. Built-in hardware RAID processors and 512MB of DDR3 onboard cache memory allow the RocketStor 6324AS to work independently and minimize the RAID operation's impact on the host system or system loads. DV Mode Technology intelligently manages the flow of large data blocks and write-back caching to minimize latency and ensure consistent, sustained high-performance transfers for media-rich applications.
Storage Availability and Accessibility
The RocketStor 6324AS has integrated a series of preemptive security measures to maximize storage uptime whenever data is needed. Redundant RAID 5 and 6 protections shield storage configurations from 1 or 2 disk failures, respectively. The RocketStor Storage Health Inspector (SHI) proactively maintains the health of arrays by examining each drive for failed sectors and dynamically repairs and remaps on the fly to keep data available.
Robust RAID Recovery
HighPoint's Hardware RAID solutions come with built-in NVRAM that constantly tracks in-progress writes to preserve the integrity of data in the event of a drive failure or system crash. These solutions also include streamlined recovery procedures while minimizing downtime. Administrators can initialize or schedule RAID verification sessions that check each disk member of an array for parity consistency. If any parity related problems are found, the interface will immediately rebuild the array to ensure the integrity of your data.
Open-Box Storage Solution
The RocketStor 6324AS is a hardware RAID Solution with an "open-box" approach to storage applications. Users have the freedom to use their choice of SAS or SATA storage devices, such as SSDs for performance or large hard disks for maximum capacity. The 6324AS supports drives from virtually all major drive brands including HGST, Seagate, Toshiba, and WDC.
