The Canon Cinema EOS C300 Z-Finder Recoil Kit combines the EOS C300 cinema camera body with Dual Pixel CMOS AF and a variety of Zacuto accessories that expands the ergonomics of the camera for shoulder-mounted shooting. The accessories include a C300 Helmet Kit, Z-Finder and Mounting Kit for relocating and securing the C300 viewfinder, a Zgrip Relocator, and a Universal VCT Baseplate. Once assembled, the kit is designed to provide a more ENG style balance and feel than just shooting with the camera by itself. The included Zgrip relocator takes advantage of the camera's removable grip to position the camera's grip to a more comfortable hand holding position, while maintaining the grips electronic functionality.
The included Zacuto Helmet Handle kit screws directly to the C300 camera body, providing a solid foundation for attaching accessories and a top handle for grabbing the camera. The Z-Finder securely clamps to the C300's LCD screen, and it will not come off unless the clamp is released. The mounting kit allows you to offset the camera's LCD view screen and securely locks it in place so it will not move when you press your eye to the Z-Finder. The included Universal VCT plate features a pair of 6.5" long 15mm rods that slot into the front of the baseplate, two threaded rod ports in the back, and has a gel polymer shoulder pad for comfortable handling. A V-lock style tripod connector, as well as 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 screw holes, allow you to quickly go from handheld to tripod setups.
Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology features a CMOS sensor that consists of an array of pixels that each feature two separate photodiodes. By continuously comparing their outputs during AF mode, phase-difference autofocus helps ensure non-blurred images and smooth focus transitions even when the talent and/or camera are moving. The new feature places a high priority on maintaining sharp focus while providing a natural, smooth autofocus movement with select Canon EF lenses - including newer-generation STM lenses - which offer even smoother and quieter operation.
